Job Description

The La Jolla Beach & Tennis Club is currently seeking a Marketing Intern to join our team at our beautiful oceanfront property!

SUMMARY

Supports all internal and external marketing efforts designed to drive reservations and ancillary spend at all properties. The Marketing Interns serves as administrative support for all marketing and promotional efforts for each company brand. The Marketing Intern is creative, organized, detailed-oriented, a strong communicator, and eager to learn.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:


General Duties:

  • Effectively prioritize and manage a varied workload to meet deadlines
  • Social Media collaboration, brainstorming, tracking of trends
  • Prepares meeting minutes and coordinates the necessary follow-up of new project deliverables
  • Creates and maintains department filing system including campaign artwork assets, image galleries, and archiving
  • Oversees consumer review responses with close oversight of Marketing Coordinator
  • F&B menu edits and updating as needed
  • Coordinates general office functions such as ordering and re-stocking supplies
  • Routes incoming creative briefs requests and establishes tracking of project progress
  • Produce signage requests in house when possible
  • Ongoing Scrubbing project support where appropriate
  • Other duties may be assigned

OUTCOME

The Marketing Intern will be the key point of contact between internal employees. The position is one of communication and supervision. It is imperative that this employee employs great organization, the ability to multi-task, the desire to learn, as well as establish knowledge of the company in general. More specifically, the employee must understand the different marketing and public relations needs and target audiences of the separate properties within the company and communicate those respective brands in a consistent and effective manner.


QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

One to two years related marketing experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.


LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions in English from members, managers, clients, customers and the general public.


MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, state, city and federal taxes and percentages. Ability to apply concepts of basic mathematics.


REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

Ability to work in an efficient and professional manner with limited supervision. Ability to use a networked PC effectively with a working knowledge of WordPerfect, Windows, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Access, Excel, and Publisher.

INTERACTION

While performing the duties of this job, the employee will interact with hotel guests and vendors and interact daily with employees from most departments within the company. The employee will also have occasional interaction with members of the company's board of directors, as well as local, regional and national media representatives. The employee must have the ability to communicate and work effectively with these and other designated internal and external customers.


SCHEDULING

This company operates seven days a week, 24 hours a day. Shifts will generally be rotated unless you were hired for a specific shift, as much as possible to be fair to everyone. At times it may be necessary to move you from your accustomed shift if business or task assignments demand. In addition, it should be understood that business needs determine the number of hours that you work.
