NEW LOCATION! NEW OPPORTUNITIES! An Exciting opportunity to be a part of our Brand New transitional living facility. We will be hiring a Full Team to handle client and facility needs. Be one of the first employees to launch this new location.
The Food Service Coordinator is responsible for kitchen management, meal preparation, and cooking of all meals in a large-scale residential site setting. Kitchen management includes planning of menus, incorporating special dietary considerations, completing inventory, placing orders, and training and supervising clients and staff assisting in the kitchen.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Prepares menus to meet the needs of residents. Collaborates with supervisors, medical staff, and nutritionists as needed to ensure dietary needs are met. Accommodates special dietary considerations when needed.
- Orders food and supplies in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, remaining within budget.
- Coordinates, prepares and/or directs preparation of all food for the assigned program.
- Monitors and ensures all kitchen equipment is operated and maintained according to safety and sanitation requirements.
- Develops and implements direct instruction plan for clients that are assigned to work in the kitchen area.
- Completes follow up on all clients that are placed in kitchen, including working with the residential clinical team on progress and treatment plans.
- May assist in orientation of new staff members.
- May attend and participate in client staffing to determine progress and treatment outcomes.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- Maintains current Food Management Certification.
- Stays current with other trainings as assigned.
- May supervise food service specialists to assist with meal preparation and cooking as assigned.
- Attend meetings, training, and agency activities and events outside of regularly scheduled work hours upon request.
What you’ll provide:
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Food Management Certificate required to be completed within 30 days of hire.
- Experience in the food service industry including catering, cooking, meal prep, and/or kitchen management preferred.
- Experience with mental health and/or substance use disorders preferred.
- Supervisory experience preferred.

- Demonstrated ability to remain calm in crisis situations, work independently and cooperatively, recognize personal limitations, and relate positively and with empathy to all persons regardless of age, race, creed, gender, or sexual orientation.
- If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC’s liability insurance carrier is required.
What you’ll experience:
- The typical work environment will be working indoors in a kitchen setting.
- Employees must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Occasional travel to training and out-of-state locations may occur as-needed.
- If driving while on agency time or on agency business, a valid Arizona driver license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC’s liability insurance carrier is required.
