SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Project Manager position will independently manage multiple projects of moderate to high complexity, with opportunity for coaching and mentoring less experienced personnel. The Senior Project Manager position will be responsible for all aspects of their projects over the entire life cycle (initiate, plan, execute, control, and close), while ensuring consistency with company strategy, commitments and goals.

SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER JOB DUTIES

  • Manage primarily Tier III (moderate to high complexity) projects for any North American site.
  • Partner with a Program Manager when a project is in process validation to ensure a smooth transition.
  • Provide project leadership, coordination, and support for multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Maintain and develop client-business relationships.
  • Ensure successful kick-off of projects and facilitate required technical transfer information gathering and maintenance.
  • Ensure that the project schedule encompasses the project scope and associated details are accurately developed and maintained.
  • Ensure equipment and materials are identified and purchased in a timely manner, as applicable.
  • Ensure effective communication of project timelines, status and needs to all project team members and stakeholders through routine meetings and project reporting. Ensure meetings are documented with meeting minutes.
  • Communicate timeline and scope change concerns to Management. Assess client requests and ensure scope changes are communicated to Sales for evaluating need for a change order, to management for escalation, and to other departments as necessary.
  • Resolve client issues and escalate to PM Management as necessary.
  • Ensure timely review and updates of documentation (MCP's, batch records, validation protocols, etc.) associated with each project.
  • Ensure daily communication of operational status and issues to affected staff and management.
  • Ensure samples are shipped to testing labs and results are provided to all relevant team members and stakeholders.
  • Provide work direction and supervision to Customer Service Specialist(s), Project Coordinator(s), and Project Manager(s) as applicable.
  • Analyze and make recommendations on Project Management policies and guidelines, as well as recommendations on training curricula.
  • Support project activities outside of core hours as necessary.
  • May lead or participate in internal initiatives, as appropriate.
  • Serve as coach and mentor to less experienced personnel, as applicable.
  • Comply with all LSNE policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS

  • Expert abilities with Project Management software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Project, and Smartsheet.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5-7 years of Project Management experience.
  • Pharmaceutical industry and/or Medical Device experience, with knowledge of fill/finish and lyophilization a plus.
  • Previous experience in a customer service or customer facing role is preferred.

EDUCATION

  • Bachelor's Degree with concentration in life sciences is preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & MENTAL DEMANDS
  • Minimal physical effort is normally required, including bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.

  • Work at a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Possesses a high capacity in dealing with ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects (duties) simultaneously.
  • Able to work in a highly complex environment with competing demands and priorities.

  • Responsible for communication internally and externally on aspects of assigned tasks or customer projects.
MANAGERIAL & SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide work direction and supervision to Customer Service Specialist(s), Project Coordinator(s), and Project Manager(s) as applicable.
