Chief Financial Officer

LPR International is seeking a dynamic Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to manage all financial aspects and recommend pro-active strategies to keep our client fiscally strong and compliant. The CFO, a member of the senior leadership team, will serve as an internal consultant to the Chief Program Officer, Director of Development, Chief of Staff, Director of Human Resources, our client's Board and management team, and other key stakeholders on all financial matters.

- 35-hour workweek
- Hybrid remote schedule - two days onsite / three days remote
- Following a six-month introductory period - 21 hours of paid personal leave per calendar year; paid vacation leave starting at 12 days per calendar year

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Analyzes information and evaluates results to determine the best solutions.
- Uses technology and people resources to oversee cash flow planning, prepares and reviews budgets and tracks operational metrics (KPIs.), ensuring MFN maximizes its funding and manages its resources in the most beneficial way.
- Actively participates in identifying/addressing organizational needs, priorities, and concerns.
- Provides oversight for and manages all budgets, forecasts, and internal financial plans.
- Oversees accounting, general ledger, and operations functions, ensuring that systems are in place to guarantee timeliness, accuracy, and compliance with funding requirements.
- Utilizes technology to optimize all reporting and analytical functions.
- Ensures that MFN meets critical regulatory and legal compliance benchmarks.
- Remains abreast of new trends in the financial industry by attending conferences, participating in professional development and sharing information with the senior leadership team.
- Builds a top-tier finance team by actively recruiting, training, and developing talented fiscal staff as needed.
- Drives best financial practices within MFN by publicizing standard operating procedures, keeping the senior leadership team, Board, and staff up to date on MFN's financial status and by generally serving as a point of reference for all growth plans and projects within MFN.
- Reviews short and long-term goals considering existing and projected financial resources available; and creates data-based long and short-term goals, budgets and forecasts.
- Participates in all internal planning regarding MFN's proposed program expansion, to ensure alignment of program, outreach, and training plans with financial projections.
- Establishes annual priorities and benchmarks and conducts regular reporting, measuring projections against actual performance.
- Builds relationships with banks, donors, vendors, outside consultants and others as needed.
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field required. Master's degree preferred.
- Certified Public Accountant preferred.
- Minimum of ten years of relevant experience as a CFO, or similar role, in a nonprofit setting of similar size and budget with at least five years of experience leading a team of finance and accounting professionals.
- Knowledge of / expertise in Public Grants management and accountability; contracts, and financial monitoring, including Uniform Guidance.
- Expertise in financial oversight, federal audits, and robust financial management.
- In-depth knowledge of risk management methods and the ability to create forecasting models.
- Ability to explain financial terms to non-fiscally oriented staff in simple language.
- Strong presentation skills.
- Proficient computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office and other online tools.
- Direct experience with accounting and financial management software; experience with Abila Fund Accounting a plus.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to represent MFN in public.
ENVIRONMENTAL:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk in a climate-controlled environment and operating a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
- Full vaccination against COVID-19 required.
