Summary/Objective

The Learning and Development Specialist is a skilled, highly motivated individual with a history of high performance and creativity to support the area of Learning & Development, including career development, onboarding, and leadership development. This individual will partner with HR colleagues, internal leaders and external trainers to drive innovative and high-impact talent and organization development programs and initiatives aligned with the company’s strategic goals and vision. Design, develop, and implement/facilitate comprehensive solutions, training, and action plans to improve both organization and individual staff performance. Establish relationships with key members of the organization to enhance the credibility and reach of the Learning & Development function.

Essential Functions

· Consult and work collaboratively with function heads, L&D team in HQ and external trainers to design, develop, implement, and execute on training and development programs.

· Prioritize the training & development programs that promote the company’s corporate culture and core values and positively impact performance and organizational strategic goals.

· Use appropriate metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of organization development projects and report conclusions and make recommendations to leaders and stakeholders.

· Design, develop, manage and facilitate innovative and effective in-person learning solutions around leadership, onboarding, corporate culture, diversity & inclusion, performance coaching and etc.

· Identify metrics and indicators to evaluate the effectiveness, success and value of solutions.

· Collaborate with L&D team in HQ to align leading edge curriculum solutions to identified organization needs and systems.

· Develop training and development programs and monitor training expenses against the departmental budget.

· Develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media that best fit for the targeted audience and deliver the best effective learning results.

· Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts.

· Plan, organize, facilitate and order supplies for employee development and training events.

· Work closely and effectively with external training organizations to plan, organize and facilitate trainings.

· Timely enter and maintain training records into database and run monthly/ad hoc reports.

· Responsible for all training related audits (e.g. internal audits, ISO, OSHA, GMP & etc.) and provide training records as requested timely.

· Develop and maintain organizational communications such as bulletin boards and newsletters to ensure employees have knowledge of training and development events and resources.

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Work Environment

This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, smart phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and other presentation materials.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 9:0 0 a.m. to 6 p.m. This position may regularly require long working hours and occasional weekend work as job duties demand.

Travel

No travel is expected for this position.

Required Education and Experience

· Bachelor’s degree in Organization Development, Human Resources or related discipline from an accredited 4-year university.

· Minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience.

· Bilingual in English & Chinese is preferred.

· Demonstrated thought leadership and experience leading innovative solutions in the field of learning, development, business solutions, and Human Resources.

· Practical experience consulting with different function heads to identify needs and develop innovative solutions.

· Demonstrated understanding of the latest leadership training and development theories.

· Able to develop strong working relationships, manage projects, facilitate change processes, and effectively communicate to achieve organizational goals.

· Understanding of design principles and ability to deliver learning solutions.

· Demonstrated analytical decision-making, project management, group facilitation, innovative problem solving, prioritization, and internal consulting.

· Extremely strong written and verbal communication and presentation skills.

· Familiarity and experience in the use of online training solutions.

· Experience leading teams and/or managing others.

· Must have a strong sense of ownership and high integrity.

· Must have strong logical, analytical and problem solving skills.

· Must be organized and able to prioritize tasks and handle multi-tasks in a fast work pace.

· Must be a self-starter, fast learner and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

· Must be a collaborative, responsive and proactive team player.

· Must have a can-do and positive work attitude.

· Must be able to handle confidential information.

· Attention to detail is a must.

· Must be proficient in MS Office including MS Word, Excel & Outlook; PeopleSoft or other software including running ad hoc reports/queries.

Preferred Education and Experience

· Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credential.

· SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credential.

Work Authorization/Security Clearance (if applicable)
