Job Description

Lantronix was recently named one of the top 10 coolest Internet of Things (IoT) companies.  Currently we seek an experienced Electronics Repair Technician to join our team in a brand new facility in Plymouth, MN.  In this role, you will work with talented engineering and operations teams; apply your knowledge and skills in electronics to analyze, troubleshoot and carry out solutions to a variety of company smart products.  Use your experience with soldering, repairing, and testing PCB board assemblies to work on cutting edge technologies with us.

What you will do: 

  • Perform trouble shooting and repair of printed circuit boards down to a component level.
  • Solder and de-solder components on printed circuit boards to J-STD.
  • Assemble, test, and package Lantronix products.
  • Program managed Lantronix products using appropriate hardware & released software.
  • Document the work performed and report failure results in the ERP system and Engineering software tool.
  • Provide training on Lantronix & OEM products and test procedures.
  • Assist in solving supplier, manufacturing, and design quality concerns.
  • Maintain a non-inventory parts and products list for rework.
  • Meet department and individual quality and efficiency goals.
  • Notify Quality Engineer or Manufacturing Engineer of any unusual problems or trends.
  • Responsible for knowing ISO 9001 specifications, procedures/processes for products and job functions.
  • Perform overtime when needed.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Competencies:

  • Operating knowledge of personal computers.
  • Previous soldering experience with through-hole and SMT components.
  • Strong ability to multi-task.
  • Strong ability to work well with others in a team atmosphere.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Fluent oral and written communication skills

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Requires High school diploma or GED plus at least 1 year of electronic classes.
  • 2 Year relevant degree or 3-5 years of PCB repair & troubleshooting work experience.
  • Ability to speak/hear clearly in person and on the telephone.
  • Relevant experience specifically with soldering, repairing, and testing PCB board assemblies.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified in J-STD. 
  • Certified or trained in IPC 610 specifications.
  • Basic knowledge of Networks.
