Human Resources Generalist

Reporting to the HR Director, the Human Resources Generalist position will be an integral part of a small HR team that works collaboratively to support all HR administrative functions. This position will provide general human resources support, including staff recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management, and HRIS management. The incumbent will be responsible for collecting, compiling, and analyzing HR-related data, metrics, and statistics, which will serve to inform the goals and priorities of the HR department and help improve the delivery of services and programs, including employee recruitment, engagement and retention, and compliance efforts.
Essential Job Functions:
- Provide general human resources support and services across various other human resources programs and services, including staff recruitment, compensation, benefits, performance management, and human resources systems.
- Serve as the main point of contact for internal requests for HR-related data and creating and generating ad-hoc reports.
- Assist with the development and creation of electronic forms and ensure the accessibility of all HR-related documents and communications.
- Coordinate and assist with employee engagement and recognition events and programs.
- Collect and compile data for annual HR-related surveys and other data collection and reporting. Regular surveys include, but are not limited to, AACN, CUPA-HR, IPEDS, and others.
- Assist with annual benefits open enrollment process, including set up, testing, and configuration of the open enrollment systems and generating reports and uploading files.
- Assist with the data entry and processing of new hires and terminations and other general employee payroll related and benefit changes by the college's biweekly pay cycles.
- Assist with and support human resources-related communications, updating and maintaining the employee handbook, developing content for newsletters, and updating and maintaining external web content.
- Coordinate and assist with the planning and coordinating training programs, including developing communications, coordinating logistics, and managing registrations.
- Coordinate and assist with scheduling, communicating, and delivering employee wellness programs and initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
- Two years of relevant experience as an HR Generalist or Four years of relevant experience as an HR Coordinator.
- Demonstrated experience and knowledge within the area of Human Resources; in areas such as HR fundamentals, employment practices, hiring, recruitment, benefits, etc.
- Proven ability to prioritize assignments, organize work, demonstrate initiative and follow-through, and complete multiple tasks with critical deadlines with minimal or no direction.
- Exceptional customer service orientation, including the ability to handle sensitive information with a high degree of confidentiality
- Must work effectively as a team member and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with diverse groups of internal and external constituencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior higher education experience.
