Job Description: Overview: The Retail Supervisor acts in a leadership role to promote outstanding customer service and ensure smooth daily store operations. Supervisors are responsible for acting with and instilling in the team the highest level of customer service, while motivating the sales team members, executing the plan of the day, training staff on product knowledge daily, and helping to maintain assigned departments within the store and the overall development of the stores associates. In addition to overseeing and helping assist Store Management with daily store operations, the Retail Supervisor may act as the “Manager on Duty” if an Assistant Manager or Store Manager are not present. Supervisors will assist in helping to control the stores budget by reviewing discounts given to customers, reducing and controlling costs of facility consumables, helping reduce shrink, monitor inventory and note sales trends, and evaluating the stores scheduled hours. Supervisors will also have a main focus on overseeing the reconciliation of registers, alteration orders, special orders, and department purchase orders. Supervisors must also possess the ability to train, coach, and evaluate staff with the oversight of Management. As well as resolve customer complaints, make sure that items are accurately priced, and ensure advertised specials are appropriately promoted through displays. The Retail Supervisor is a full-time position and requires flexible availability including nights and weekends. This position reports directly to the Manager and Assistant Manager and is expected to coordinate and deliver department training to associates. Responsibilities: · Promote the store's customer service culture · Merchandising and physical maintenance of store department’s and zones · Promote corporate and store initiatives to increase sales and profit · Conduct team member training on customer service and product knowledge · Conduct selling skills training for associates · Provide merchandising and display skills training · Daily communication with associates and store management · Daily focus on reducing shrink, monitoring discounts given, and help oversee and reduce OT by sending employees home on slow days · Assist and communicate with Management on motivating, evaluating, coaching, and in the moment counseling of store associates · Enforce safety procedures · Schedule daily operations + utilization of the Plan of the Day · Other responsibilities not specified Qualifications:1-2 years retail or customer service experience in a supervisory roleExperience in a fast paced, customer service industry is preferredExcellent leadership, communication, training, follow through and retention skillsAbility to prioritize responsibilities and to effectively multi-taskPassion for exemplary customer service (Customers are #1)Ability to learn, retain, problem solve, and teach product knowledgeSales expertiseMust be 18 years or older. (coach, monitor, and record staff behaviors daily) • Maintaining an overall management style that follows company best practices. Be present and willing to help. • Ensuring company policies are followed by all staff while on duty and instore. • Assisting customers whenever necessary. • Assisting staff members whenever necessary. • Ensuring / coaching a consistent standard of customer service to all staff. • Motivating employees and ensuring a focus on the mission and sales growth. • Coaching staff on sales technique and add on sales. • Providing leadership and direction to all employees. • Optimizing profits by helping control costs. (use of consumables, ROP’s, discounts, etc.) • Oversight on training and developing new employees. • Resolving customer issues to their overall satisfaction. • Ensuring product quality and availability. • Overseeing retail inventory, evaluating ROP, making suggestions for new products. • Creating Plan of The Day independently to company standards. • Assign projects, oversee, and check in on progress. Communicate in full expectation and timelines. • Ensuring that health, safety, and security rules are followed by all staff. • Coaching when necessary associates when necessary. Followed by Written Documentation to Manager and human resources. • Maintaining merchandise and a visual plan. • Maintaining store is to standards, including merchandising and cleaning. (daily) • Cash till verification. Please do not go to neighboring business, this needs to be done at the bank and documented. • Transfer Orders Inbound and Outbound (daily). • Daily Training – Follow List of training schedule. Oversee and check in with staff to verify understanding has been obtained. • Opening/closing the store, ensure registers are properly opened and closed each day and reconcile daily deposits accurately according to open/close and till procedure checklists. • Open and closes the store following proper procedures documented in the opening and closing checklist. Verify all tasks were completed day of and day prior. Coach and assign as needed. • Alteration general support: Sizing, chalking, and basic practices and principals. • Alterations / oversee email sent 2X daily (AM and PM) • Name tape check in and contact customers • Special Order check ins – contact customers – update receiving log • Update receiving log – record packages delivered. • Drive sales to alterations business, addressing guest concerns, coaching/training employees, and mitigating loss. • Create and discuss Policy and Plans that betters the store. • Holding all team members accountable in a fair and reasonable manner. • Understanding basic CA HR practice and laws. • Understand PO process and procedure. Ensure orders/requests are captured, quotes, and processed according to company policy and standards. • Monitoring Special Orders and department orders • Helping develop forms and in store documents • Adding to Shared Docs and Files – uploading, printing, development, and requesting. • Check and respond to emails daily. • Check calendar and respond to projects daily. • Maintain and develop playbooks. • Continue to learn and develop NAV and POS skills. • Check in paychecks, distribute as needed. · Record and submit all reimbursements monthly to management. All items purchased and mileage used for work related matters must be submitted before last day of the month.
