We are searching for a \- Quality Manager i n our Advanced Systems & Technologies \(AS&T\) division, located in Ashburn,VA
Our AS&T division is built on the proposition that a small team of the right people can do what others will not even attempt\. We specialize in developing disruptive, next\-generation technologies for advanced small Unmanned Air Systems \(UAS / UAV\), advanced radar systems, next\-generation weapon systems, and other RF sensor technologies using small company agility and big company experience\. As a Quality Manager you will be responsible for all machined and mechanical commodities to include inspection, documentation and internal and supplier corrective action\.
The Quality Manager shall plan, implement and control a quality system, in fast paced development and production environments while ensuring that delivered products meet all of the standards and specifications required by the contract/Program\.The candidate must be a "hands on", highly motivated and driven self\-starter willing to challenge status quo and implement the necessary change to optimize business performance\.The Quality Manager supports customer, business, program, and product success through analysis and application of reliability engineering, quality engineering, process engineering, failure analysis, business acumen, and continuous improvement knowledge and systems\. The Quality Manager leads a group of Quality professionals and partners with Manufacturing and Engineering to accomplish business unit objectives and customer satisfaction\.
Key areas of emphasis include customer and regulatory requirements interpretation and planning, technical risk assessments, nonconforming material disposition, design improvements, qualification and testing reviews, failure analysis, data analysis, budget and proposal estimating and customer satisfaction\.
This position requires interface with senior leadership and executive management across the business unit\. Process improvement initiatives, internal and supplier corrective action execution, and verification of compliance to requirements will be recurring parts of the position's responsibilities\. This position requires analytical capabilities and demonstrated problem solving experience from a variety of commodity backgrounds\.The ideal candidate is someone who has proven experience in successfully developing, implementing, and maintaining an effective AS9100 quality management system, establishing and delivering against a long\-range strategy for the quality department\.
You will demonstrate success by:
+ Establish and maintain AS9100 compliant quality management system\. Maintain effective quality management system processes, communicate results of quality management system performance and assures pursuit of customer satisfaction throughout the company\.
+ Plan and direct the activities related to the quality department, which includes selection, work allocation, training, development and problem resolution\. Establish annual objectives, monitor employees' performance against those objectives, and provide real time, frequent feedback regarding their performance\.
+ Effectively manage tasks, resources and risks to achieve schedule commitments while monitoring financial budgets to make timely critical decisions needed to meet overall scope, budget and objectives of the business and customer\.
+ Work collaboratively with Operations and Engineering Directorates to establish lean processes that provide predictable and repeatable results while achieving customer requirements in all elements of operational performance\.
+ Define and specify the implementation of standards, methods and procedures for inspecting, testing and evaluating the precision, accuracy and reliability of company products\. Assure smooth operation of the inspection unit, maintaining daily records and reports\. Identify the processes, methods and apply lean principles to reduce the non\-value\-added time during the inspection process\.
+ Embrace and take a lead role in promoting the concepts of continuous improvement throughout the organization by effectively implementing principles of Lean Manufacturing, including Six Sigma and Kaizen in a low volume, high variation, production environment\. Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the quality department and provide recommendations and develop business cases as required to support the investment in new technologies and infrastructure that support quality and cost improvements and objectives of the facility\.
+ Lead effective reduction of Non\-Conformances through the application of robust root cause problem solving and effective corrective action throughout the organization\.
+ Support Program Management, Operations, Supply Chain and other internal customers with Quality Key Performance Indicators \(KPI's\), data and analysis and executeimmediate, proactive action to correct variances\.
+ Participate in the design reviews of new designs to ensure customer and quality requirementsare met and to ensure design for manufacturability, design for testability, and Six Sigma is achieved\.
+ Communicate quality requirements for subcontractor/supplier flow down
+ Support and maintain a closed\-loop corrective and preventive action system both internal to division, with our suppliers, and with our customers\.
+ Identify and develop quality improvement initiatives
+ Develop inspection plans for complex items/assemblies
+ Support programs with data collection and analysis of inspection, test results, and failures
+ Other duties as assigned

+ Must be a U\.S\.Citizen with the ability to obtain DoD Secret clearance and additional clearances as required
+ Bachelor's degree in STEM
+ Minimum of 7\-10 years in a quality organizationin a high\-tech design, development, and/or manufacturing environment\.
+ Experience in development and production program support and supplierquality management\.
+ Must have well\-developed business acumen and be able to balance a strategic focus with the ability to dig into the details when necessary\.
+ Must possess a strong process orientation and a track record of reducing costs, improving productivity, and streamlining operations in order to achieve significant financial improvements\.
+ Must have strong problem solving and analytical skills\. Demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and "gray area" decision making skills when confronted with challenging and changing schedules, technical issues and priorities, while still ensuring product quality\.
