About the Role

This individual will be responsible for leading projects that transform current inefficient activities in best-in-class processes. Outlines the project opportunity, goals, scope of effort and deliverables, as well as develops and manages key project timelines to ensure timely completion and measurable results to improve business performance, quality, and compliance. Employee will research, analyze, map out all processes/workflows, remove waste, and recommend solutions. The CI Manager will focus to improve processes within the operation by utilizing Lean Six Sigma methods and tools.

What you will do

  • Serve as the single point of responsibility when it concerns routine audits of customs brokers globally
  • Use Six Sigma Process Improvement (DMAIC method) to quantify & prioritize audit findings – initiate projects, track progress to closure
  • Demonstrate proficiency with statistics and use Six Sigma tools and techniques to complete process improvement projects by reducing process defects and optimizing service quality
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing principles to remove process steps that provide no value to the customer and reduce waste
  • Effectively engage subject matter experts from the business function and translate their needs/requirements to solutions with high impact to the business and our customers
  • Demonstrate proven team leadership and facilitation skills and the ability to influence others at all levels of the organization
  • Be responsible for delivering processes that are fully integrated between functions
  • Understand and align business projects & processes with overall organizational priorities
  • Serve as a Change Agent to drive process adoption across functions and the global organization
  • Must be able to energize teams at all levels of the organization and effectively balance multiple initiatives
  • Experience with PDCA cycle to control a process
  • Understanding of FMEA and DFMEA to capture potential failures before they occur
  • Proficiency to detect mistakes and Poke-Yoke a process to avoid future occurrences
  • Identify cause and effect by the use of Fishbone diagram and provide corrective actions through various tools (i.e. 5 Why’s)
  • Experience with identifying opportunities for and initiating Kaizen Events with a proven track record to drive improvements
  • Review and measurement of Takt-time within the operation to meet customer demand
  • Conduct root cause analysis to determine metrics, troubleshoot, operations, assembly issues, material flow, project plans, production capacity, facility design and create process documentation
  • Carrying out advanced data collection and analysis for process mapping, develop budgets and cost analysis to determine project feasibility
  • Initiate value stream mapping to define “Current State” and the transition to “Future State”
  • Develop and conduct compliance audits, program evaluations and reviews to drive results with the fortitude to ensure change is permanent and sustainable to exceed customer expectations
  • Partner with key business stakeholders, and multi-departments to build a continuous improvement environment to support an ongoing program of change
  • Support the delivery of better value and greater efficiency through the identification and elimination of unnecessary waste within business processes and identification of better ways of working
  • Identify trends and process variations as part of establishing a continuous improvement monitoring system
  • Assist in the development and implementation of a ‘best-in-class’ continuous improvement strategy
  • Collaborate with other team members and business services departments to devise new support material based on the revised processes, to include training, reporting and systems enhancements
  • Actively monitor project risks to foresee/identify potential problems and proactively identify solutions to address in advance
  • Ensure the business impact and project objectives are identified, reported on and managed at all times
  • Fully complete post-implementation reviews to ensure successful delivery has been achieved and to ensure that improvements can be made for future projects
  • Ability to create and execute project plans to solve complex, multi-functional problems/opportunities, research, analyze, map out all workflows, remove waste, and recommend solutions in a fast-paced work environment

Who you are

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with ability to effectively communicate well with all levels of the organization – English
  • Certified Lean Six Sigma Black Belt. MINIMUM EXPERIENCE
  • 10+ years proven continuous improvement analytical experience from a similar role, including project management and business analysis
  • Confidence, presence, and credibility to command the respect of colleagues and senior stakeholders, especially within Supply Chain Management, Engineering, Services, Logistics, and Finance
  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs
  • Adaptable / Flexible - being open to change in response to new information, different or unexpected circumstances
