Job Description

Join the Kurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) in Enabling Technology for a Better World. We are seeking a dynamic, forward-thinking individual to join our Inside Sales team. KJLC is a growing global manufacturer and distributor of vacuum technology.

The Customer Service Representative’s primary responsibilities include: answering incoming phone calls, promptly addressing customer requests related to product orders, quote preparation and follow-up, order confirmation, and ensuring customer issues are satisfactorily resolved. This person must be able to professionally and succinctly communicate technical information via phone and email. They must maintain and promote a professional company image through all interactions, external and internal.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Answer all incoming phone calls from customers and respond to customer requests
  • Enter all incoming internet and telephone orders in the company ERP system, while also maintaining customer information/contact information
  • Thoroughly qualify each customer request and gather relevant information so to connect the customer(s) with the appropriate key internal personnel. This includes product/service inquiries, billing research and reconciliation, as well as technical research and issue resolution
  • Provide customers with product and service information, and generate quotations as required.
  • Work alongside sales team members and functional department personnel to ensure open quotes are followed up on and/or resolved quickly
  • Create, and respond to, opportunities to promote company products via cross-selling/upselling
  • Promote and enhance brand awareness by completing customer satisfaction surveys, as well as through new customer follow-up and opportunity assessment.
  • Balance multiple open orders, quotes, etc., in order to maximize company opportunities and meet/exceed customer expectations
  • Read and interpret contract language, contract terms and conditions, and customer purchase orders, engaging sales and legal team leadership when appropriate to ensure all customer transactions are conducted in accordance with established company practices, policies and procedures.
  • Assist in training new employees as required.
  • Complete and participate in ongoing training, as well as learning and development opportunities relevant to the industry, as well as professional and self-development.



  • Associates Degree and/or 3 to 5 years of customer service related industry experience
  • Strong data entry skills
  • Professional verbal and written communication skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills


  • Bachelor’s Degree in business or other related field
  • Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
  • Experience with Dynamics AX ERP database
