Job Summary:

The Global Procurement Manager is responsible for managing global procurement, U.S. material control, and U.S. material sawing, storage, and warehousing for our Manufacturing Division.

 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage your team and their functions, with detail-oriented oversight and provide coaching, mentoring and training to ensure quality, timely and cost-effective delivery of products or services.
  • Achieve operational and production goals by setting and tracking productivity standards, schedules and KPIs, and resolving problems and issues with root cause analysis and continual improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and up to date process documentation, i.e. work instructions, job descriptions, onboarding documents, etc. Create and enforce department policies and work instructions and ensure timely compliance with companywide policies and procedures.
  • Drive down cost for raw material and sub-contracting services without sacrificing quality and monitor commodity market conditions and pricing indexes to provide feedback to KJLC quoting team.
  • Manage moderately to highly complex Requests for Proposal (RFP), Requests for Information (RFI) and Requests for Quote (RFQ) as required.
  • Directly negotiate or oversee negotiations with key suppliers. Effectively implement strategic supplier strategies and initiatives.
  • Process purchase requirements to satisfy sales order, production order, and stocking requirements and evaluate and recommend stocking levels based on historical transactions and sale forecasts to minimize global inventory.
  • Perform vendor onsite evaluations, audits, and inspections as required.
  • Collaborate with other managers across the division and the company to achieve shared goals and objectives, and coordinate with central purchasing and Global Supply Chain Manager to establish consistent purchasing practices and training.
  • Manage the Material Control Department on the shop floor to optimize material receipt, handling, sawing, warehousing, picking and staging for production orders, and create/maintain a material delivery schedule.
  • Responsible for coordinating & responding to Corrective Action Requests (CAR’s) and ensuring Long-Term Corrective Actions (LCTA) are carried out.
  • Ensure safety and environmental friendliness in each of your areas and quickly address any unsafe situations or findings.

Qualifications:

Required

  • Minimum 5 years of purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a management role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, or related field or equivalent experience.
  • Highly self-motivated, persistent and able to work well in a fast-paced environment with high initiative, judgment and discipline
  • Strong skill set utilizing Microsoft Word and PowerPoint 
  • Proven ability to maintain long-term business relationships with strong management, leadership and communication skills.
  • Travel (up to 10%, domestic or international).

Preferred

  • Knowledge of Lean or Six Sigma methodologies.
  • CPIM (Certified Production and Inventory Management).
  • CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional).
  • Advance working knowledge of Supply Chain ERP modules and Microsoft Office suite.
