Employer seeks Facility Maintenance Engineer with HVAC experience. Experience with HVAC, building automation controls, boilers, chillers, air handlers, heating/cooling closed loops, and low voltage electrical circuits is required. Candidate must be able to complete a federal background check, pre-employment physical, and pre-employment drug screen. Employment is full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift.
The Facility Maintenance Engineer performs general maintenance, operation, and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge in such trades as painting, carpentry, plumbing, masonry, building heating and cooling systems, and electrical work. Includes equipment such as chillers, air handling units, hot water boilers, fans, and pumps. The Facility Maintenance Engineer will also maintain additional facility mechanical/electrical equipment to include lighting and plumbing. The Facility Maintenance Engineer will perform scheduled preventive maintenance and additional minor building repair as assigned.
Work involves a variety of the following duties: Replacing electrical receptacles, wires, switches, fixtures, and motors; using plaster or compound to patch minor holes and cracks in walls and ceilings; repairing or replacing sinks, water coolers, and toilets; maintaining plumbing; painting structures and equipment; replacing damaged paneling and floor tiles; hanging doors and installing door locks; replacing broken window panes; performing general maintenance on equipment and machinery; performing preventive maintenance on heating and cooling equipment; operating, monitoring, and maintaining building heating and cooling equipment. Must follow all applicable safety rules and guidelines.
The Facility Maintenance Engineer must be able to diagnose problems, respond to trouble calls, and be familiar with building HVAC equipment/building automation controls.
The Facility Maintenance Engineer must be capable of low voltage circuitry troubleshooting and repair.
A minimum 5 years of experience maintaining facilities, to include heating and cooling systems, is strongly preferred.
Certificate of completion of formal HVAC training program, documented apprenticeship, and/or other license/certification in HVAC (to include controls) is required. Universal License to handle refrigerant is a strong plus.
Employee must posses a valid driver's license.
This is a Service Contract Act job paying up to $36.73 hourly wage plus $4.22 hourly health and welfare benefit.
