Service Specialist - Call Box

Knightscope is seeking an individual who demonstrates a high level of integrity and accountability to join our team to perform specified work as directed by contracts with various Call box customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation of call boxes and call box sites per customer or standard specifications.

• Maintenance of call boxes and call box sites including troubleshooting electronic and cellular conditions.

• Preventative maintenance of call box performed bi-annually.

• Install, remove, relocate and reinstall call boxes or call box sites per customer or standard specifications.

• Dig holes for new / repair foundations, including mixing of concrete at the site.

• Troubleshoot and repair call boxes or call box sites to customer expectations following established and documented procedures.

• Perform preventative maintenance to call boxes following established and documented procedures.

• Maintain accurate and complete documentation on all repairs including inventory usage, time and procedures performed.

• Maintain compliance with all Case Systems and Caltrans safety policies and procedures including prompt reporting of all hazards to management.

• Perform scheduled maintenance on assigned vehicles and maintain accurate and complete records of such maintenance.

• Operate Company vehicles and assigned hand or power tools safely.

• Comply with all Company policies particularly those regarding absences and tardiness.

Experience

• Technical knowledge of low voltage electronics.

• Basic knowledge of cellular systems.

Technical Skills

• Drive Company vehicles and operate assigned hand or power tools safely.

• Use a multi-meter to diagnose low voltage call box components including batteries, solar panels and circuit boards.

• Install concrete poured in foundations to specifications provided.

• Diagnose cellular coverage by channel and signal strength.

• Troubleshoot cellular issues to the root cause and identify specific channels that are out of service.

• Clean call box, access to the call box and site removing weeds and trash to include graffiti removal.

• Lift 130-pound poles and use crane to reinstall pole on to foundations.

• Use ladder and climb 10 feet or higher.

• Communicate all findings clearly and promptly both verbally and in writing.

Education/Training

• High school diploma and minimum of one year experience in electronics or related field.

• Basic background of electricity / electronic troubleshooting.

• Working knowledge of basic construction techniques including concrete and carpentry.

Physical Requirements

• Able to lift heavy loads.

• Able to perform construction with hand & power tools.

Special Requirements

• Must maintain a valid driver's license and good driving record.

• Must maintain a good safety record.

Rate of Pay

• Prevailing wage beginning at $26.00.
