Provides direction for the Process and Quality Departments striving for continuous improvement. Develops new designs and modifications to the equipment to improve the production capability and the quality standards.

Responsibilities
  • Works closely with Plant Management and Functional Teams to identify process bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis and implements process improvements across the business or organization.
  • Maintain process operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing project, operational and personnel policies and procedures.
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions, implementing action plans, and providing resources
  • Communicate key initiatives to the Plant Manager
  • Drives productivity and process improvement projects aligned with business initiatives.
  • Conducts quality awareness and problem solving trainings within the organization
  • Coaches project teams to fulfill certification requirements, quality and process improvement objectives. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and benchmarking state-of-the-art practices
  • Maintain Quality and Process staff by selecting, orienting, and training employees
  • Maintain Quality and Process operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing project, operational and personnel policies and procedures
  • Complete projects by scheduling and assigning employees; follow up on work results
  • Resolve quality issues by identifying problems, examining solutions, implementing action plans, and providing resources
  • Maintain KIMS documentation compliance for the Process and Quality Department
Qualifications

Education:

  • Bachelors Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Chemical or Manufacturing Engineering or related field or Experience in the field
  • Lean Six Sigma training/certification preferred

Experience:

  • Minimum five (5) years experience as a Process Engineer in an industrial manufacturing environment involved with product trials, customer complaints and product testing
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience leading/supervising/managing high-performance teams in a similar environment
  • Minimum two (2) years quality experience
  • Experience as a Lead or Internal Auditor preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Ability to lead and train others in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to motivate and energize a team to produce winning solutions
  • Ability to make quick, thorough decisions that will positively impact the organization

  • Knowledge of fiberglass manufacturing processes beneficial
  • Knowledge of lean processes is beneficial
