SummaryPerforms full scope of clerical and para-professional responsibilities in the operation of Youth Services department and a Branch Library.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe following may not be all inclusive and other duties may be assigned.01 Recruits, trains, assigns and reviews the work of Library Assistant I and volunteers in a Branch Library, which includes establishing work schedules and instruction of day-to-day duties.02 Keeps abreast of library policies and procedures; provides assistance to impaired patrons by locating material suitable to their needs.03 Suggests procedural and program changes for the Youth Services department and Branch Library through participation in workshops and direct consultation with other Library Assistants.04 Implements new and continuing programs for the Youth Services department and Branch Library. of in-house sources and referral to main library.06 Checks in and out materials to branch patrons.07 Registers patrons; determines eligibility of library patrons for issuance of library cards.08 Prepares and returns library materials to appropriate location utilizing alphabetical and numerical filing systems (Dewey Decimal System) and knowledge of ILL (Inter Library Loan) Department loaning procedure.09 In cooperation with coworkers, keeps building as attractive and safe as possible.10 Required to operate a County vehicle occasionally.QualificationsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
