About the role
You will play a key role in driving our go-to-market strategy to fuel growth and delight our customers. This role operates at the intersection of product, market, sales, demand generation, and customer success, and reports directly to the Head Of Marketing.
As our product marketing specialist, you’ll be an expert on all our products and features and drive all aspects of marketing for them. You will identify customer needs as well as business opportunities through a combination of user research, customer and sales feedback, market data, and competitive analysis.
To be successful in this role, you will need to work effectively by yourself as well as with others – including executive management, product management, engineering, sales, brand, customer, and integrated marketing, to achieve measurable results. If you are passionate about storytelling and creating selling content this role is for you.
You will be developing and delivering engaging content to help drive greater brand awareness and lead generation. You’ll produce product data sheets, case studies, battle cards, presentations, solution briefs, competitive analysis briefs, white papers, newsletters, blogs, and more. The ability to distill complex product capabilities into crisp, clear messaging and positioning appropriate to our target buyers is essential.
What you will do:
- Based on analytics and audience research, develop a messaging strategy to better engage our audience, and outline a plan for testing your ideas and assumptions
- Develop crisp, compelling positioning, messaging, and collateral that articulates value propositions and product-market fit to attract customers
- Product positioning and messaging– craft product messaging and positioning documents that serve as the foundation for internal and external sales assets, marketing programs, web copy, solution briefs, webinars, presentations, and press releases.
- Build buyer and user personas. Be an authority on ICPs and how they buy and their buying criteria. Be an expert on our differentiators, the competition, and how to beat them.
- Equip the sales, channel, and customer success teams with the content and data needed for them to be successful in their roles.
- Conducts market research to uncover customer needs, validate approaches, and help influence our product strategy
- Developing and delivering webinars
- Developing and delivering product, competitor, or use-case based landing pagers and sales enablement materials
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role, ideally direct experience in a product marketing role for B2B SaaS
- Excited to roll up your sleeves and do things yourself: writing copy, running a report, designing a workflow, building a landing page, or enhancing current digital or printed collateral
- Ability to work autonomously in a startup environment and work cross-functionally to influence leadership, align stakeholders, and execute strategies to hit business objectives
- Attention to detail and the ability to create concise, compelling messaging for different audiences
- Proven success developing and managing product go-to-market plans, product, and release launches
- Detail and results-oriented; skilled at both planning and hands-on execution
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
- Experience working in fast-paced, entrepreneurial start-up environments
- Creativity and aptitude for optimally positioning and messaging products
- Previous marketing/advertising agency experience a plus
- Previous knowledge of martech / sales tech a plus
- Previous knowledge and experience with a variety of CRMs a plus
- Previous experience working with communications is a plus
- Previous web and app development experience a plus
