Role and Responsibilities:
We’re looking for a Content Product Designer to join a new content and experience design and creation team. You’ll be responsible for coming up with and executing on amazing “whoa awesome” maker projects, DIYs, installations, as well as educational content. You’ll also be on-camera, demonstrating how to build projects and explaining educational concepts. You’ll get to work with a variety of cross-functional partners, including product designers, editors, content creators, photographers and videographers, and your projects will touch millions of kids around the world.
Brainstorming and researching compelling, educational content and DIY projects for kids. These could be anything from smaller scale DIY projects for kids to do at home, to larger demonstration builds for awesome video content and in-person experiences.
Building the projects! Being a technically-oriented maker is a must for this role. You’ll be responsible for bringing the physical products and experiences to life.
Writing content. There are editors on the team, but writing clear instructions and explanations for your editor partners to work with will be important.
Video hosting. We will be pumping out a bunch of awesome content, and you’ll be one of the faces presenting it to the kids!
Project management. We’re an ambitious group, and will be moving fast. You’ll be responsible for tracking and scheduling projects, integrating the physical product with the rest of the content team.
As a start-up celebrating creativity and development, we believe and encourage the same in our team. We seek team players with an infectious positive energy, great initiative, and a get-it-done attitude. Candidates must thrive in ambiguity and love a rapid pace. You must have a strong desire to learn and improve.
Technically-oriented maker. You must be comfortable working with a wide range of materials and prototyping processes. Our content ranges from crafts to soft goods, laser cut wood and mechanics, to electronics. You’re a badass maker and feel at home in a shop.
Comfortable on camera. The role requires someone who isn’t afraid to get up in front of a camera and enthusiastically engage our audience with infectious energy.
Communication skills. Exceptional communication skills with team members and cross-functional partners will be very important to successfully execute on projects. Effective communication on camera is also important.
Hands-on, "get things done" mentality. Eager and able to solve challenges and tackle opportunities. Identify potential issues and hurdles and develop ways to get around them. Adapt to quickly figure out ways to get things done and to assume new responsibilities as needed. Excellent organizational, analytical, and multi-tasking skills are musts.
Detail-oriented. We move quickly, but we bring care and thoughtfulness to everything we do. We care deeply about the details.
Resourceful. You see a project from conception through successful completion - whatever it takes to make it a success. Hurdles are inevitable, but you take it upon yourself to take ownership, assess options and get initiatives done.
More about you: You're positive, motivated, dynamic, thoughtful, analytical, creative, enthusiastic and entrepreneurial with excellent judgement.
B.S. in Engineering, Science or Design.
Proficient in Adobe Suite and 3D modeling software.
Experience with and love of working with kids
If you’re passionate about producing enriching, delightful products and experiences for kids, we’d love to hear from you!
