We are seeking a dynamic, driven Marketing Manager to increase the Library's visibility, and promote resources, services, events, classes and culture while leading a creative team that is recognized nationally by their peers for their outstanding achievements.
The Marketing Manager will be an essential part of a data-driven team seeking to drive ever-increasing quality and efficiency of better information on the services we offer to our patrons and community. The ideal candidate will be responsible for hands-on management of performance marketing and analyzing data effectively for ongoing optimizations and strategic insights.
On a day-to-day basis, this position will collaborate with the Communications Team to plan, create and manage the marketing and communications of Kitsap Regional Library everywhere online and in print - including ad campaigns, social media, presentation materials, email, website, fact sheets and other print and web-based collateral. The candidate should be flexible and able to apply a developed brand but also create unique/original content and creative storytelling, while being passionate about our brand, mission and shared values.
Experience with Creative Cloud, InDesign, Drupal and WordPress or a basic understanding of HTML, XML, CSS is a plus! Being "fun, fresh and fearless" and "relentlessly resourceful" are core values of the Library and essential to the position. Please provide a link to a communications portfolio.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Collaborate with the Communications Team to plan, create and manage the marketing and communications of Kitsap Regional Library everywhere online and in print. The incumbent will develop, coordinate and execute the communication strategy, increasing the Library's visibility, and promoting resources, services, events, classes and culture, continually improving the user experience for patrons and staff. Through on-brand, consistent communications and marketing activities they will enhance the image of the Library.
This position reports to the Director of Marketing and Communications and directly supervises positions within the Communications Department. Work is performed with significant opportunities for exercising independent judgment and initiative.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Any of the following duties may be performed. These examples are representative and do not include all specific tasks an incumbent may be expected to perform:
DUTIES:
- Collaborate in the research, development and strategies for the internal and external communication of the Library to support staff and the Library's strategic goals.
- Manage the creative team in planning, creating and managing high-quality, on-brand communications and marketing focused on key messages as determined by the communications plan, online and in print.
- Ensure brand standards, consistent and accuracy in messaging; manage all communication channels including but not limited to: The Library website, social media, online platforms, email, digital signage, branch signage/displays, print material, press materials and staff communications.
- Coordinate and manage the team in the development and delivery of various projects and deliverables, monitoring priority, setting expectations for customers and delivering materials in a timely manner.
- Advise in the development of the Library's communication plan, digital strategy and brand development.
- Engage in working committees and meetings to problem-solve and develop ideas, strategy and action plans.
- Create with an eye on reusable, systematic materials. Create and maintain an asset management systems and departmental workflows.
- Stay current on trends and best practices to continue to deliver innovative, relevant creative content.
- Monitor community events for opportunities to promote library services.
- Develop and maintain effective lines of communication within the department and with other departments, branches and divisions, collecting feedback and collaborating with various departments to create messaging and communications regarding events, initiatives and services.
- Social Media: Monitor current trends and develop and manage social media strategy.
- Respond to all interactions in a timely manner.
- Curate and publish relevant, high-quality content.
- Periodically review policies and procedures and provide input based on current trends.
- Website: Responsible for the strategy, usability and content of the Library website.
- Oversee development and continuity of themes.
- Evaluate and alter website strategy based on analytics.
- Monitor current trends and grow the website to deliver a personalized user experience.
- CRM Management: Develop strategies for personalization and building relationships with patrons, staff and community.
- Develop strategies and monitor current trends.
- Manage planning, testing, evaluating and reporting of campaigns.
- Create, automate and track targeted emails.
- Ensure email layout, design and content are optimized for best results.
- Review and organize information effectively to ensure maximum engagement.
- Maintain data integrity through database management, incorporating best practices for scrubbing and updating.
- Understand the roles and duties of other Communications team members to provide back-up as needed.
- Research and complete special projects/assignments as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
- Ability to develop and follow action plans, timelines and project plans to ensure deadlines are met and multiple projects are managed simultaneously.
- Ability to present ideas confidently in a team environment. Provide and receive feedback openly. Comfortable with change in direction.
- Manage critical data systems including, but not limited to, Mothernode CRM, marketing automation platform(s), and WordPress and/or Drupal.
- Ability to write and edit with speed and accuracy, displaying a strong knowledge of grammar and the ability to create clear, engaging and informative text, maintaining an appropriate tone and adhering to the style guide.
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of marketing and communications.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Cloud and InDesign, Windows, Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Apple, content management systems (Drupal, WordPress or similar), HTML, CSS, JavaScript, SQL, SEO and Google Analytics.
- Ability to learn new technology and tools quickly.
- Ability to analyze key metrics and adjust strategy as needed.
- Knowledge of social media marketing strategies and statistics.
- Excellent analytical and project management skills.
- Familiarity with graphic design concepts and technologies.
- Ability to manage complex communications in accordance with the ethical and public disclosure standards for a publicly funded agency.
- Ability to interpret community and local government interests and to promote a positive, professional image of the library and its activities.
- Ability to recognize and set priorities and to use initiative and independent judgment in a wide variety of situations.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, Friends' groups, special interest groups and representatives from other community organizations.
- Ability to work a varied schedule, including evenings and weekends, as meetings and special events dictate.

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is required to:
- (CONTINUOUS) seeing, talking, hearing and manual dexterity.
- (FREQUENT) sitting for long periods of time, walking, standing, grasping, keyboarding and repetitive motion of hands/wrists.
- (OCCASIONAL) kneeling, stooping, reaching, bending, crouching, twisting and squatting.
- Requires the ability to lift, push, pull and carrying objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Work is performed indoors under office-type conditions.

SCHEDULE
This is a full-time exempt position scheduled for 40 hours per week. The schedule will be determined by the supervisor upon hire and may include weekends and evenings. Please note that schedules are subject to change to meet the needs of the library.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or a related field plus four years professional experience or a combination equivalent of education and experience of 8 years related to the duties of the position. Supervisory experience is preferred. Must be able to travel throughout the library system to meet with public groups and library staff.

Kitsap Regional Library is a member of the Washington Public Employees Retirement System (PERS).
Compensation range is $70,663.64-92,199.87 annualized DOE.
