POSITION/TITLE: Technical Accounting Manager
REPORTS TO: Controller
LOCATION: Seattle, WA
Organization Summary:
Publicly held company for 30 years. Hybrid /remote and in office
The Technical Accounting Manager, a core member of the Finance team, is responsible for
driving projects related to financial reporting, research and development accounting, debt
financing and policy implementation. This position would work closely with the Controller to
develop policy and oversee accounting close.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Drafts and/or reviews technical accounting memos, providing insight to accounting
treatment for new contracts and arrangements
Works as a team to assist Controller in review of accounting close entries such as
prepaids and accruals related to audit, IT, legal, operations, marketing and research and
development expenses, debt, finance and operating leases
Spearheads internal reporting, collaborating closely with FP&A, the Controller and CFO
to create internal reporting from Oracle
Prepares supporting documents used in the creation of SEC and other governmental
reporting
Reviews various quarter-end GAAP checklists
Preparation of federal, state and local documents for creation of tax provision
Assists on projects as needed including optimization projects dealing with our financial
and accounting system
Manages the implementation of new policy under GAAP including new guidance and
related internal controls
Education and Experience Required:
Bachelor’s degree in business with Accounting or Finance concentration
A minimum of 5 years of accounting experience and 2 years of public
CPA license preferred
Advanced Excel with an understanding of pivot tables
Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, etc.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
Solid understanding of GAAP
Excellent knowledge of SEC rules and regulations
Knowledge of SOX
Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively
communicate clearly and concisely with all levels
Strong collaborator and analytical problem-solver
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills (coaching, counseling and mentoring, etc.)
Annual compensation $135,000 to $150,000
