Job Description: MAUI BREWING COMPANY National Account Director Job Title: National Account Director – (remote near major international airport) Department: Sales Reports to: Chief Sales Officer FLSA Status: Exempt Salary range: $100,000 – $125,000 plus 20% bonus opportunity Prepared by: Chris McJunkin Prepared Date: 6/20/22 Approved: Chris McJunkin SUMMARY Maui Brewing company is seeking a proactive, entrepreneurial and results driven National - Regional Accounts professional to join our team and thrive within the company sales system and culture. The National Account Director reports to the Chief Sales Officer and is responsible for cultivating buyer relationships, driving profitable sales, and attaining contribution from targeted on and off premise accounts within the Maui ‘Ohana of brands. This key role will utilize existing national accounts relationships while developing and maintaining strong and mutually rewarding business relationships with buyers of assigned strategic chains, wholesaler key account managers, and the internal Maui team. Collaborating with the internal Maui team, you will assist with the development of strategy, annual business planning and drive the Maui Brewing Company distribution and promotional execution. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Includes the following but not limited to: Supports Maui Brewing Company Core Values, Purpose, and Philosophies. Maintains constant communication and positive relationships with MBC management, Distributor sales force, and key retailers. Responsible for chain account management and planning. Adheres to budgets Account Management · Owns the relationship and sales process with the chain account. Establishes a buyer call cadence that is complimentary to the chain’s buying process and owns the timeline calendar for reviews and resets · Develops compelling buyer presentations and category management principles to build Maui Brewing Company sales, share and profit · Creates and extends awareness and value for our brands with existing & new on and off premise chains · Provides leadership with the development of account strategy and collaborates with internal sales and marketing team to implement and execute at a high level of performance Strategic Planning · Develops strategies in conjunction with the Chief Sales Officer, Marketing, Field Sales and Senior Leadership (CEO, COO, and CFO) to maximize brand contribution and profit within the targeted account base · Identifies chain assortment and programming opportunities, developing goals, and strategies for growth Wholesaler Collaboration and Coordination · Collaborates with chain mangers to design strategies and selling approaches to influence buying decisions that are favorable for the Maui Brewing brands, our wholesale and trade partners · Sets expectations for wholesaler performance, provides execution guidance and motivation for success while reflecting on the results for learning and improvement · Coordinate regional and national pricing to align with program and pricing calendars Communication and Administration · Maintains chain account profiles that include all pertinent information and data that optimizes alignment · Shares market insights and activities, accomplishments, and opportunities with an action plan to sales leadership and the broader Maui Brewing team as directed · Actively participates in the Maui Brewing sales process which includes weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual planning and reflection meetings Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Ten years’ minimum experience working in the three-tier distribution system with a top 20 craft brewery and/or large domestic brewery Must have verifiable existing chain relationships on a national and regional level Strong knowledge of craft beer, the industry, and its retail consumers. Proficient in Microsoft office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. In depth knowledge of scan data and VIP data Excellent oral, analytical, written, and communication skills. Dynamic public speaking and presentation skills. Travel is required. Education and/or Experience Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university; 10 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
