Positions available: Pedatric Back office Medical Assistant
Pediatric Back Office Medical Assistant (MA)
Knowledge of standard medical care, medical terminology and safety hazards.
Dependability, professionalism, accuracy and effective communication skills with parents and children.
The ability to multitask and remain focused in a fast paced environment
Responsibilities include but not limited to competency in taking vitals, giving injections, phlebotomy, vaccine administration, GRITS, inventory, and stocking rooms.
Administers prescribed medications and treatments as ordered by the provider
Assists with the preparation of equipment and aids the physician during treatment, examination, and testing of patients
Phone triage with appointment bookings and phone messages in the electronic medical record
Maintains timely flow of patients and records.
Screens patients for appropriate information and testing.
Instructs patients in collection of samples and tests in a professional manner
Arranges for patient testing and admissions in coordination with phone triage/referral coordinator.
Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls including documenting in the electronic medical record. Instructs patient and/or family regarding medications and treatment instructions.
Notes tests and examination results in EHR.
Attends required meetings office meetings
Participates in professional development activities and maintains professional affiliations.
Knowledgeable of HIPAA and OSHA
Ensures a clean and clutter free work space and maintains clean and clutter free patient exam rooms.
Performs related work as directed by supervisor, administrator, and physicians with no time sitting idle.
Assisting other MAs with care of patients as requested.
Other duties as assigned may include scanning, filing, referrals, pharmacy calls, prior authorizations, labs, etc.
Patient load about 30- 40 patients a day
Salary is based on Experience
