Position Summary/ObjectiveThe Training and Development Manager is responsible for continuously improving the knowledge, skills and abilities of Kickapoo Lucky Eagle Casino (KLEC) employees. This position proactively assesses the training and development needs of the entire KLEC population on an ongoing basis and initiates programs to address the identified needs. Essential FunctionsConduct annual training and development needs assessments at all levels of the organization.Build and update training and development programs and resources by securing existing training programs, creatively design programs and supporting materials.Propose training and development programs and objectives that exemplify the desired culture and philosophies of the organization as well as those that meet regulatory compliance requirements. Modify training programs and/or objectives based on business need, industry trends, etc. as needed.Develop training budget as part of the overall Human Resource departmental budget and monitor spending against budget.Obtain and/or develop effective training materials utilizing a variety of media and delivery methods in consideration of different learning styles and multi-language challenges. Supervise training staff: assign work, manage performance, provide support and insure ongoing training and development of the training staff.Maintain current knowledge about training and development best practices for self and the training and development staff.Train and coach managers, supervisors and others involved in employee development efforts including implementation of train-the-trainer methods as appropriate.Maintain training and development records for all employees and ensure they are placed in the appropriate employee files.Design and conduct appropriate follow-up studies for all completed training and development activity.Design measures for indicating the effectiveness of training and development programs. This position will work an average of 40 hours per week and based on business need may occasionally work a flexible schedule which may include nights, weekends, holidays and extended hours.Travel outside of the office may be seldom required and may involve travel by automobile or plane which may require sitting for extended period of time in moving vehicles.(Definitions: Constant (80-100%); Frequent (60-79%; Average (40-59%); Occasional (15-39%); Seldom (0-14%) Requested Accommodation(s)_____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________Required Education, Experience and Other Credentials:Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related field.Minimum of five years related work experience with a minimum of three of those years as a training professional and two of those years in a training and development management or supervisory level role.Minimum of three years demonstrated experience meeting the training and development needs of a large population of diverse adult employees at a single location working in a 24-hours per day, 7-days per week, business environment.Demonstrated ability using multiple forms of training equipment; strong skills with Microsoft Office suite.Must be at least 18 years of age.Must be able to obtain a Kickapoo Gaming Commission License, including successful completion of a background check which is required to obtain and maintain a license.Must be able to provide proof of authorization to work in the United States.Must have reliable transportation to commute to and from work.Preferred Education, Experience and Other Credentials:Master's degree in Education, Training or a related field.Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) credentialsSociety for Human Resource Management (SHRM): Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) credentials.Three years prior experience working in a tribal casino.Written and verbal fluency in Kickapoo, English and Spanish languages.Other Selection Criteria:Native American preference is observed.
