Position Details:
Work Schedule: 8:30 am - 5:00 pm
Location: Gibbstown, NJ
Job Functions
- Match colors in various cosmetic mediums including fingernail coatings.
- Develop and verify formulas.
- Perform cost analysis of formulations.
- Operate analytical equipment.
- Create, maintain, and organize color standards for production and QC.
- Create, maintain, and organize physical laboratory notebook.
- Create, maintain, and organize electronic documentation.
- Test and evaluate new raw materials, intermediates, and finished products.
- Perform stability testing for color fading and product stability per GLP guidelines.
- Utilize appropriate spectrophotometric techniques and software as needed to match and document color.
- Interact with laboratories, sales teams, and customers in other global locations.
- Identify important scale up parameters and plant equipment to safely manufacture new pigmented formulations.
- Complete projects and prepare reports/project summaries, as required.
- Work safely with hazardous chemicals and waste.
- Participate in general upkeep of the laboratory.
- Perform basic formula generation/data review tasks in New Product Launch software.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years' experience in a laboratory environment.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Good mathematical skills - unit conversion, ratio, percentage.
- Good organizational skills.
- Computer proficient.
- Proficiency with MS Office - especially Excel.
- Ability to work independently as well as on a team.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Good decision-making skills.
Education
- 4-year college degree in a technical field (Chemistry, Bio-chemistry, Biology, Engineering or similar).

The physical demands and work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
- Physical Demands: Employee is required to walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools, or controls. Ability to wear/use personal protective equipment as required such as lab coat, goggles, gloves, masks, etc.
- Work Environment: This position requires one to work both in an office environment and a lab. Ability to work in an upright and /or stationary position for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists to operate lab equipment. On occasion, may be exposed to light fumes or airborne particles.
