KeyTalent, KeyStaff's Professional Division, is partnered with a medical device company specializing in innovative technology for surgical needs. Currently, we are seeking the right candidate to fill the role of Shipping and Receiving Clerk. This is a direct-hire opportunity and is non-contract as you will be hired directly through the client company. Pay rate depends on level of experience and ranges from $13-16 per hour.

Job Overview:

The Shipping & Receiving Clerk is involved in various aspects of raw material and finished goods handling. This includes, but is not limited to, the processing of Domestic and International Sales orders, as well as consolidated shipments to International Distribution Centers. The Shipping & Receiving Clerk will receive incoming shipments and compare items to work order provided by the supervisor.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Count items to ensure the correct number of packages have been received
  • Assist in physically moving incoming items to designated storage areas and supervise storage activities
  • Assess work orders to determine order picking and pick orders according to BOL
  • Match order information in order cards to ensure conformity
  • Assess the quality and quantity of picked items to ensure safe delivery to the appropriate case
  • Record damage or defective items and replace as needed according to company policies
  • Handle returns and exchanges by ensuring reverse distribution processes are followed properly
  • Determine if all incoming and outgoing shipments are properly labeled and correlating documents are available with each shipment
  • Select the correct shipping options using knowledge of shipping procedures, routes, and rates
  • Arrange for carrier or vehicle pickup
  • Compare amount and identification numbers of goods against order listing
  • Maintain shipping file records
  • Trace missing or lost shipments
  • Route products to appropriate departments
  • Attach identifying information to shipments
  • Maintain all records of shipments in Excel
  • Processing of domestic and international shipping with software such as UPS and FedEx, and Trade Management Systems
  • Manual invoicing for pickups as required
  • Resolve product shipment issues as needed
  • Interdepartmental communication
  • Seek improvements and makes recommendations to management
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Minimum 2 years experience using shipping software such as UPS and FedEx systems
  • Minimum 1-year expereince in processing international and hazmat shipments
  • Advanced PC Skills (Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Attention to detail and organization
  • Effective communication and strong writing skills
  • Proactive, professional, self-starter, can work in a team or independently

Physical Conditions:

  • Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds individually, and 50 pounds with assistance
  • Frequent sitting, standing, lifting, reaching overhead
  • Significant use of standard office equipment, including a computer, keyboard, monitor, and mouse
  • Fast-paced warehouse environment
