Senior Construction Inspector

Keville Enterprises, Inc. in Windsor, CT is seeking qualified construction inspectors to perform inspection services on public and private projects for highway, road, bridge, rail, facilities, water/wastewater and airport projects. A positive attitude is a must.
DUTIES: Area of focus will be inspecting work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specification, contract administration, reporting daily progress, tracking and documenting quantities of work performed, resolving construction problems and challenges in the field and other oversight responsibilities as assigned. Candidates shall have knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, strong communication skills, documentation control, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to perform quantity takeoffs/calculations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in inspecting, testing, or managing construction projects is a must. Candidates must be fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel and SiteManager. Must have effective written and oral communication skills, be eager to learn, willing to perform a variety of tasks and be a team player.
A minimum of four years of experience in civil, highway or a relevant engineering field. Two years of this experience shall have been in field inspection activities.
NICET Level II Certification in Transportation/Highway Construction is required. A current State of Connecticut Professional Engineer's License or a Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) in a relevant field is also acceptable. Other certifications a plus including: NACE Coatings Inspection; ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor; NETTCP Asphalt, Soils and Concrete; and AWS/CWI.
