Director of Operations (Manufacturing)

Responsibilities

As our Director of Operations (Manufacturing), you will have overall responsibility and leadership for our Production, Purchasing, Repair & Refurbishment, Inventory, Quality Control and Distribution departments in our corporate headquarters located in Grapevine, TX which serves our customers across the United States and Internationally.

You will work closely with teams across the organization including Product Managers, Engineering, Human Resources, Finance/Accounting, Marketing, IT, Quality Assurance and more.

·         Direct and monitor department managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures.

·         Acts as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies, and all matters that affect their performance, attitudes, and results.

·         Develop the manufacturing plan and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to established company quality standards.

·         Assists senior staff members in the development and formulation of long and short-range planning, policies, programs, and objectives.

·         Monitor scrap and rework data to identify, recommend and implement changes to improve productivity and reduce costs.

·         Direct the establishment, implementation, and maintenance of production standards.

·         Propose and manage budget plan annually for three departments.

·         Formulates and recommends policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position and the profitability of the operation.

·         Achieve optimum employee levels with least amount of overhead and raw material costs to meet annual budgetary plan.

·         Hire, train, develop and evaluate staff.

·         Take corrective action as necessary on a timely basis and in accordance with company policy.

·         Ensure compliance with company policy and ISO 9001:2015 certification.

·         Consult with the Human Resources Department as appropriate.

·         Direct and coordinate various programs essential to company procedures (e.g., training, safety, housekeeping, cost reduction, worker involvement, security, etc.).

·         Initiate and coordinate major projects (e.g., plant layout changes, installation of capital equipment, major repairs, etc.).

·         Foster an environment that encourages creative problem solving and collaboration across all departments.

·         Perform miscellaneous duties and projects as assigned and required.

Qualifications

  • ·         Ability to manage a diverse team and direct activities to deliver on expectations.
  • ·         Proven ability to meet deadlines and operating under tight time constraints with a strong sense of urgency.
  • ·         Must have demonstrated experience in leading large team.
  • ·         Strong computer skills - Microsoft office a must, SharePoint, Sage 100 or Dynamics a plus.
  • ·         Advanced strategic thinking and analytical thinking abilities.
  • ·         Eagerness to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • ·         Ability to adapt to change and learn quickly.
  • ·         Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with all levels of employees.
  • ·         Strong leadership, coaching and motivating skills.

 

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business or related field

• 10 years of experience in manufacturing management, preferably in a process-oriented operations and/or related industry

• 5 years of experience managing a significant segment of a large manufacturer or the entire operation of a smaller manufacturer. Experience in the electronics manufacturing industry is a strong plus.

• Prior experience with an ERP system is required.

Travel Requirements Under 10%.
