Job Description

The primary function of the Financial Planning Assistant is to serve as professional support for the Financial Planners in the firm. This position is ideal for entry level individuals starting their career in the financial services industry. The duties of the Financial Planning Assistant include preparing material for financial planning meetings, basic securities analysis, research, and client onboarding and service. This position requires strong analytical skills, as well as high attention to detail in a client-focused environment. Salary is commensurate with experience, competitive benefits and room for advancement.

Requirements

  • Be a great teammate
  • Provide technical financial planning support to lead and service advisors
  • Participate in and document client meetings
  • Perform various investment, financial planning, and insurance research and analysis
  • Actively and positively participate in all levels of client service
  • Develop working knowledge of TPG’s financial planning, CRM, and other core systems
  • Maintain client database, CRM, and electronic record-keeping documentation
  • Cross train in client service administrative matters – account opening, maintenance,
  • Continue to develop and master technical skills, proceeding along the CFP track


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in financial planning, finance, accounting, or related field
  • Basic knowledge of financial planning
  • Highest degree of integrity and ethics
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter, problem solver and a goal-oriented team player with strong work ethic
  • Ability to work independently and perform multiple tasks efficiently
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word


Ideal Qualifications:

  • Series 7 preferred, Series 63 and 65, or 66 preferred (or ability to obtain)
  • CFP, CPA, or equivalent track preferred
