Job Summary

The Grants Technician is responsible for timely financial grant reporting, budget support to Managers and Directors, and maintaining grant data in multiple databases.

Essential Functions

  • Responsible for data entry into grant software; to include pre-award proposals, new grant set ups, staffing changes, modifications, and closeouts
  • Performs financial grant research, tracking, justification, and reporting functions; compiles data with periodic project reporting and reimbursement submittal requirements from local, state, and federal agencies
  • Reconciles monthly accounting reports to spending limits
  • Provides grant budget support to Directors and Grant Managers
  • Responsible for monthly grant drawdowns from Federal sites
  • Assists in tracking grant and contract receivables for pass through funds
  • Responsible for updating staff and budget changes to Budget Maestro and Management Reporter

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in accounting, finance, or related fields, or a combination of education and experience in a related field may be substituted for a degree

Experience

  • Two (2) years of progressive experience in accounting
  • Two (2) years of grants experience

Preferred

  • Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities
  • Experience with Microsoft Great Plains applications

Special Skills

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Suite, or obtain training within 90 days of hire
  • Conducts business in a service-oriented manner that is attentive, pleasant, respectful and kind when dealing with un'ina, visitors, co-workers and others
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively
