The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing primary telephone coverage, responding to initial inquiries, providing program support, providing administrative support to the Education and Training Director, acting as backup in data management activities, and maintaining systems to assure smooth administrative functions across the division. This position serves as a dedicated resource for mailings, and serves as the procurement liaison to the General Services Division.
Provides administrative support to the Education and Training Director.
Assists with division-wide communication
Provides coverage and supportive assistance in the reception milieu.
Provides assistance and support in the effective management of program supplies and materials.
Maintain systems to assure smooth administrative functions between education Programs.
Fulfills data management activities including tracking, input, and reports.
Performs a variety of advanced clerical tasks including meeting minutes, recording and materials distribution.
Performs scheduling and reservations for meetings and events.
Creates a positive atmosphere for children and families.
Serves as a positive role model for parents through the implementation of the Education policies and procedures and consistently utilizes appropriate direction, discipline and guidance techniques, as necessary.

High School Diploma or GED.
Three months to a year of prior experience.
Clerical support with related duties in education.
Project coordination support experience.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and with multidisciplinary teams.
Must have a valid Alaska Driver's License or obtain within 90 days of employment and maintain being insurable under the Tribe's policy.
Sensitivity to confidential matters required.
Knowledge and experience working with cultural diversities.
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management and staff, outside clients and vendors.
Desire to be in a learning role and pursue higher education opportunities.
Oral proficiency or coursework in Dena'ina language.
