Junior Cost Accountant

Hiring a Junior Cost Accountant in Sugar Land, Texas.

Salary Range: 60K- 65K

We are currently seeking Jr. Cost Accountant position to join our team. The Jr. Cost Accountant is responsible for validating item costing for new and revised items, tracking resin movements from railcars, and monthly inventory counts for ink, solvent and plates. This position is also responsible for monthly sales and budget reporting.

Essential duties and responsibilities:

• Validating item cost for all new or revised items.
• Update and track ink purchases along with EOM ink counting.
• Track the movement of resin from railcars daily.
• EOM count of plates and solvent.
• Help with adding new items cards as needed.
• Validating scrap shipments to vendors for billing.
• Responsible for updating Sales Budget Reports monthly along with Sales reports.
• Validate Customer pricing sheets
• In addition, this position will have the opportunity to participate in ad hoc duties:
  • Cost reduction projects.
  • Help in the annual review of production standards.
  • Help in the customer profitability reviews.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Bachelor s degree in Accounting/ Finance.
• Minimum two years Costing experience in a manufacturing environment is a must.
• Ability to leverage interpersonal skills to establish rapport and develop relationships with all key production departments.
• Must be detail-oriented, organized and possess an analytical approach to solving problems.
• Strong proficiency in Excel and Word, with preference given to knowledge of manufacturing costing.
