Our group of companies includes distribution, maintenance, repair and overhaul, and engineering & manufacturing divisions. We collectively collaborate with key partnerships to provide a suite of complex solutions that addresses operational readiness for end users maintaining these aging aircraft. We support legacy fixed and rotary wing aircraft including but not limited to F-5, T-38, F-16, F-15, F-18, C- 130, P-3, Boeing 707 derivatives and several rotary platforms. SUMMARY: The Quality Engineer will be responsible for making sure that engineering and manufacturing processes are performed correctly using the right tools, materials and processes. An important part of the job involves designing the company's quality standards and testing processes against those criteria.


· Evaluates current QA and QC procedures and practices for accomplishing department objectives; develops and implements improvements as needed.

· Validate quality product specifications and quality attributes; measure and document objective evidence; determine operational and performance qualifications; develop and update quality manual as necessary (AS9100D and other quality related documents).

· Evaluates FAA repair station with thorough understanding of FAA process, training and documentation. Develops and updates FAA repair station quality manual as necessary.

· Provide guidance to Engineering during design and specification requirements to best utilize quality processes and techniques.

· Prepare quality documentation and reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends including corrective actions, failed processes, recalls, return merchandise and re-validations.

· Conduct periodic reviews of manufacturing and quality systems and create improvement cycles based on performance results.

· Interface with engineering and manufacturing/operations to ensure customer requirements and specifications are flowed down to products and services.

· Support manufacturing and quality project planning and scheduling to assure a seamless execution and delivery of products and services.

· Support quality task sequences, planning (work instructions) and work flow for fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and shipping/receiving.

· Proficiency in the use of inspection tooling to determine if parts and process yield the dimensional requirements.

· Interface with engineering and manufacturing/operations to ensure customer requirements and specifications are flowed down to products and services.

· Support the company quality performance rating process to continually improve customer satisfaction

· Manage Material Review Board activities and control and disposition of non-conforming material.

· Performs other related duties as assigned by management.


· Champion AS9100 and quality and performance alongside preparing the EP site for AS9100 Rev. D Compliance.

· AS9100 Subject Matter Expert with the responsibility to support the development, implementation and management of the Quality Management System per IS0-9001/AS9100/QMS 14001.

· Supports and manages FAA repair station processes, training and documentation.

· Generates protocols, reports, and SOPs; reviews protocols, SOPs, product specifications, and records.

· Support first article testing, test analysis, manufacturing processes, process documentation, project work flow and shipping/receiving.

· Manage quality metrics, trends and Lean activities to improve cost, quality and schedule performance.

· Directs and coordinates the activities of the quality control function to ensure achievement of company objectives.

· Implement a quality culture of root cause analysis and corrective action to prevent future escapes and continuously improve quality.

· Develop quality plans by: conducting analyses; identifying critical control points and preventive measures; establishing critical limits; monitoring procedures, corrective actions, and verification procedures; and monitoring inventory quality.

· Ensures that quality system requirements are maintained and reported.


· Successful candidate will have a broad Quality and/or Engineering background, with direct experience in customer management, contract review and implementation, quality management systems, Root Cause and Corrective Action (RCCA) through the utilization and application of Six Sigma tools.

· Undergraduate technical or business degree desired.

· 6-10 years of Quality QA/QC methodology or Engineering with professional experience in an aerospace manufacturing environment

· Knowledge of FAA regulations, ISO and AS9100 quality standard requirements.

· Experience in all elements of Quality from design to assembly/inspection/integration/test.
Quality systems or related discipline, with AS9100 certification or training.

· Experience in Lean/Six Sigma, 5S and Continuous Improvement.

· Experience with the control and disposition of non-conforming material.

· Solid analytical skills and solution-driven thinking.

· Detail-oriented to accurately prepare statistical reports and technical documents in support of company objectives.

· Able to create and maintain enthusiasm for new and challenging goals.

· Current knowledge of manufacturing technology, productivity and quality measurements, and material/planning systems requiring continual review of methods to optimize productivity.

· Proven ability to manage multiple complex initiatives simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is a must.
