POSITION OVERVIEW

Katapult is seeking a Fraud Manager in the NYC Metropolitan area who possess a deep understanding and knowledge of Fraud in a financial services environment. Candidates will be considered that reside in the East coast close to the NYC Metropolitan area or in Dallas, TX (all staff currently working remote due to COVID). The Fraud Manager must be a self-starter and possess the ability to identify fraud issues, investigate and provide solid solutions. Ability to work within a collaborative team as well as work cross functional with the Operations team. The Fraud Manager will report directly to the Chief Risk Officer. 

JOB DUTIES

  • Maintain credit policy related to fraud detection, host bi-weekly Retailer, Sales Watch List Program
  • Develops, deploys and maintains fraud rules and model(s) from scratch or integrating new data sources in company'™s existing underwriting processes
  • Collaborate with other people in Risk team to understand the performance of fraud rules and models, risk, and financial impact on the portfolio
  • Monitor model performance once deployed and recommend rapid iteration if necessary
  • Partner with the Engineering team to develop, test and deploy credit models and rules
  • Leverage company's operations Fraud team to improve investigation processes
  • Assist in projects related to improvement of infrastructure, features, capabilities, and processes for mitigation and reduction fraud
  • Collaborate with operational team to minimize the chargeback risk
  • Gather and analyze risk data to produce monthly reports to clearly communicate overall fraud risk and losses to Senior Management
  • Keep up to date on the best practices of fraud detection in the marketplace and be the point of contact of vendor management
  • Other duties as assigned
  • QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in Fraud Analytics in a financial services and risks environment
  • Advanced knowledge in a specific area of compliance laws, regulations and regulatory expectations
  • Demonstrated ability to apply advanced knowledge of regulatory compliance to consult and provide insight and guidance
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, prioritize, research and resolve issues in a timely and effective manner
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong critical and analytical skills
