Overview

We're looking for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team and help us grow our product offerings. This role can be remote, but you must reside in the Eastern Time Zone.
As a Kastle QA Engineer, you will have an opportunity to contribute to our award-winning, highly available and distributed platform that is deployed on platforms ranging from microcontrollers, headless Linux IoT controllers, datacenters, and the AWS and Azure clouds. Our products work to keep people safe while adding convenience and providing excellent customer service to the building managers and enterprise customers that use our Security-As-A-Service platform.
This position will be key to helping Kastle maintain quality in legacy applications (including identifying and implement ways to automate current test processes which may be manual in nature), but also to drive high quality in new and forthcoming products.

Responsibilities
• Create test plans
• Create and Document test cases
• Program automated tests in various automated test frameworks, such as webdriver.
• Maintain QA portions of CI/CD pipelines and ensure proper test coverage
• Develop standards and procedures to determine product quality and release readiness
• Discover defects within software and work with software engineering for root cause analysis
• Drive innovation and streamline overall testing processes
• Identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing
• Identify any potential problems that users might encounter
• When necessary, engage in manual testing as needed
• Research and analyze product features being tested
• Research new tools, technologies, and testing processes
• Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality
Qualifications
• Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or similar degree that provides a solid foundation in computer programming.
• Solid foundation in software and system test methodology
• Professional experience with several different technological stacks, such as C# .Net/SQL Server/Windows, C++ on Linux, embedded devices
• At least 3 years experience working in a fast paced Agile development environment and implementing with one or more test frameworks.
• At least 2 years of experience building automated tests for web sites and web services (Selenium WebDriver experience is preferred), working with relational databases (SQL), and designing test strategies and test cases
• At least 1 year of experience in DevOps methodology and tools, including artifact/issue tracking in JIRA, containers (Docker), Puppet, automated testing, etc.
• Excellent written and verbal US English communication skills
Helpful but not required:
• Demonstrated experience discovering security vulnerabilities. Understanding of secure coding techniques and ways to uncover unsecure code.
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and programming (TCP/IP, UDP, NAT, Port Forwarding, etc)
• Thorough understanding of public key infrastructure and OpenSSL
