General Warehouse

Kap's Wholesale Food Services, Inc. is a meat distributor located just south of Detroit's Eastern Market area. We are looking for a couple general warehouse laborers to join our fast-growing team. These individuals will assist with receiving, product picking, assembly, and coordinating. These individuals will report directly to the Warehouse Manager.

 Responsibilities / duties include learning and executing all receiving processes, including (but not limited to):

·  pick orders in a timely manner

·  gather all order items and assemble together

·  commit to early morning start time of 5:00 am

·  commit to an average work week of 48 hours, Monday through Saturday

·  must be willing to operate a pallet jack

·  qualifications to operate a hi-lo / reach truck are a bonus and may warrant a rate premium

·  must dress appropriately for colder temperatures, as work occurs in a cooler / freezer environment

·  ability and willingness to remain organized and multi-task in a fast-paced environment

·  ability to lift product and packaging in excess of 75 lbs.

·  assist with the maintenance of a clean, organized, and safe work environment

·  loading and unloading trucks

·  clearing the dock area of all incoming freight  

Qualifications:

·  must pass pre-employment screening process

·  previous experience in food and beverage warehousing or shipping & receiving preferred

·  must have a good attitude

·  must have reliable transportation

·  high school diploma preferred
