CLE and Bookstore Coordinator

Description

Reports to:Director of Continuing Legal Education

Job Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Continuing Legal Education Programming & Administration (70%)
    • Work with KBA Sections and Attorneys to develop CLE programming
    • Assist with planning, logistical arrangements, scheduling, marketing, and publicity of CLE programs
    • Run and monitor CLE webinar programs (via Zoom or other similar platform)
    • Work with the Kansas CLE office to obtain accreditation for CLE programs
    • Assist with reporting and tracking CLE attendance and evaluations
    • Communicate with KBA members and CLE registrants
    • Assist with preparation of required CLE reports
    • Supervise preparation and distribution of CLE course materials
    • Assist with planning & coordination of Annual Meeting CLE components
  • Bookstore Coordination (20%)
    • Process bookstore orders
    • Manage and track bookstore inventory and sales
    • Develop marketing and promotional materials for bookstore products
    • Communicate with members, law firms, and law libraries regarding bookstore products
  • Other Duties as Assigned (10%)
    • Provide general assistance to Director of CLE and other staff
    • Perform other duties as assigned for the good of the KBA

Required Qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • At least one year of professional event planning, program planning, or marketing experience
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects
  • Experience with technology/software: Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Suite, and Zoom or other video meeting/webinar software
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines under pressure

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 4-year or 2-year degree in communications, education, marketing, business, or related field
  • Marketing & Design Experience
  • Experience with Adobe InDesign
  • Customer service experience
  • Experience working for a membership association, non-profit organization, or in the legal field

Travel:

  • Some travel and overnight stays in Kansas will be required (when it is safe to do so)

Classification:

  • Full-Time, Exempt

Schedule:

  • Monday-Friday; 8:00 – 4:30 pm (37.5 hours/week) performed in Topeka office. Ability to work remotely when conditions necessitate is required.

Salary range:

  • Starting at $39,000; commensurate with experience
  • Paid vacation & sick leave. Retirement package & excellent health benefits.
