Flex Teacher

Summary 

The Flex Teacher will provide high-quality one-on-one support for students and is full-time. In addition, they will assist teachers as needed with the whole class and small group instruction. Flex teachers are Kairo's second line of education defense. Hired with the intent of eventually filling a lead teacher vacancy if one arises. This allows Kairos to offer consistently high-quality education with high-performing instructors. Promoting a safe and reliable school community for our personalized learners.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all lesson plans left by teacher given by teacher or admin
  • Clear classroom management abilities/ Techniques
  • Facilitate instruction through technology to enhance classroom experience
  • Model correct English oral and written forms
  • Participate in professional development and all required training experiences
  • Enforces regulations concerning student conduct and discipline.
  • Understand importance of maintaining student identity
  • Strategically flexible to meet staffing needs
  • Exhibit positive rapport with students, families, and staff
  • Internalize lesson plans to execute at a high level
  • Participate in weekly content professional development meetings outside of school hours
  • Establishes and maintains a cooperative working relationship with students and families based on trust, understanding, and respect for the communities in which they identify.  
  • Flexible and ready to step into multiple roles, willing and open to

In addition to role-specific responsibilities, all staff at Kairos "coach" a "pod" of students. Coaching involves checking-in with students 2-3 times throughout the week for 10-15 minutes and updating parents regularly on student progress. Coaches mentor students on executive functioning and social-emotional skills such as setting achievable goals, keeping a to-do list, and navigating the highs and lows of school.

Technology Skills 

Ability and competence in Microsoft Office applications and ability to use a variety of computer applications and platforms. Ability to use basic office equipment. Also knowledge and experience in using a computer-based student Information Management system.

 

Safety Duties & Responsibilities 

Every employee of the School has an obligation to know our safety rules and procedures; to teach what they know to others; to recognize unsafe actions and situations; to warn others of unsafe situations; to react to emergency situations and to report hazardous or unsafe practices to those in a position to correct them.

Qualifications

 

Bachelor’s degree Required

Pass Criminal Background Check Required

Missouri Substitute Certification Required

Valid Missouri Teacher Certification Preferred or willingness to become certified.

3+ years of teaching experience Preferred

 

 

Other Qualifications 

Satisfactory criminal records check, pre-hire and annually thereafter, if applicable. Must be eligible to work in the United States and provide work authorization.

 

Starting Salary: From $42,000.00 per year
