Customer Care Representative

·         The Computer Room Operator provides support for the Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) Parts Distribution Center (PDC) Computer Room Operation as a member of the Computer Room Print Operations team, reporting to the Lead Computer Room Operator & IT Site Operations Manager.

Description:

·         The Computer Room Operator will work with other members for the Computer Room Operations staff to support production-related IT activities for their respective Customer Care & Aftersales (CCA) site.

·         Provide support for the Computer Room Operation which allows for the efficient & timely delivery of print tags to plant floor personal, per the responsibilities noted below.

·         Perform tasks relating to onsite support for basic/intermediate requests for infrastructure IT support.

·         Must be able to take direction from multiple sources & able to multitask & prioritize tasks appropriately.

·         Strong written & verbal skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of personnel, onsite & remote.

·         The computer room operator will use strong customer service skills, knowledge of IT systems, and manual dexterity to deliver IT services to the CCA warehouse operations team.

Responsibilities:

·         Entering parameters into Warehouse Mgmt. System (WMS) application for execution of order draws.

·         Printing and sorting of pick tags, shipping documents, and daily reports.

·         Use, operation, installation, configuration (hands on) of printers, thin clients, PC’s, and scanners

·         Perform IT and non-IT related business functions at Customer Sites.

·         Maintaining and executing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

·         Interface with Computer Room Operations teams located at various CCA sites, along with remote Application Owners.

Education or Equivalent Experience:

·         Good customer service, team work, and interpersonal skills

·         Use keyboard (input commands); use peripherals (print, load paper, ribbon)

·         Motivated team player willing to learn

·         Two or more years of experience in a Data Center/Print Operation/Applications Support role

·         Physical condition/dexterity/vision

Preferred Attributes:

·         Basic knowledge of IT systems and support procedures including desktop PC’s, Printers, LAN/RF networks

·         Experience in a GM CCA PDC or equivalent facility

Education and Experience

·         Technical undergraduate degree math, computer science, engineering, or related discipline with an information technology focus or HSD with equivalent experience

·         Training in college level computer systems preferred
