The Role:

This Environmental Engineer is a key member of the EHS team, is a highly visible position in the operations and in the companys Engines Business Unit.

The companys Engines is a world-class producer of aero engine and industrial gas turbine components, including airfoils, forged rings, disks and forgings. We excel in vacuum melted superalloys, machining, performance coatings and hot isostatic pressing for high performance parts that enable the next-generation of quieter, more fuel-efficient aero engines and cleaner power generation.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: This is not intended as a comprehensive list; it is intended to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities. Incumbent(s) may not be required to perform all duties listed, and may be required to perform additional, position-specific tasks.

Develop, implement and maintain environmental programs
Assures That all environmental regulations are in place and followed
Advises operating managers concerning environmental regulations and assists in determining and implementing corrective action
Serves as liaison between the organization and regulatory agencies concerns with environmental control monitor, operational activities to assure consistence discharge compliance
Establish and implemental hazardous waste handling, packaging, hauling, disposal practices
Monitor existing, revised and new environmental regulations of federal, state, and local agencies (South Coast AQMD).
Maintain, identify and process required information and documentation to comply with all permit requirements
Perform annual reporting, semi-annual, and quarterly reporting to various agencies some of which include South Coast AQMD, California ARB, and Stormwater Industrial General Permit (SWPPP).

Degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemical Engineering, Civil Engineering or closely related.
At least 5 years of Environmental experience.
Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire.  Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. Green Card Holder), Political Asylee, or Refugee.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of applicable environmental regulations and procedures in manufacturing environment.
Experience in developing and maintaining environmental compliance systems.
Experience with working with local agencies (South Coast AQMD, California ARB, and Storm Water Industrial General Permit)
Experience with a large, multi-national company and matrixed operating environment.
Demonstrated professional with passion for change and relentless focus on execution.
Strong communication skills, analytical skills, problem solving and human relations skills.
Ability to make difficult decisions with sometimes an incomplete set of data.
