The Co-op/Intern, Engineer will participate in an accelerated experience that includes exposure to multiple functional areas.  The program consists of three areas which include: 1) Process and Production Engineering; 2) Special Finishing Engineering, and 3) Automation and Process Development Engineering. At the conclusion of the program, participants will be candidates for various roles within, but not limited to, Product/Processing Engineering-Assembly Plant, Finishing Engineering-Assembly Plant and/or Automation and Advanced Development Engineering.  The Engineer Co-op/Internship Program provides individuals with future leadership opportunities, exposure to manufacturing operations and operational practices.

Essential Functions

Process and Production Engineering-Assembly Plant:

  • Support Process Engineering and Advanced Development teams in designing and executing tests for new processes in development.
  • Provide current and proposed costing scenarios to determine process viability.
  • Gain knowledge in faucet manufacturing processes through participation in cost reduction and quality improvement teams in partnership with global process engineering and plant process engineering associates.
  • Provide analytical support for all areas in Process Engineering which includes product costing, capital planning, and design of experiments, problem solving, and process simulation.
  • Assist in the design development and implementation of assembly tooling and fixturing with emphasis on reducing potential safety/ergonomic issues and improving overall costing.

Finishing Engineering-Assembly Plant:

  • Support the Finishing Engineering team in designing and executing tests for new processes and finishes in development.
  • Provide current and proposed costing scenarios to determine process viability.
  • Gain knowledge in finishing processes through participation in cost reduction and quality improvement teams in partnership with global process engineering and plant process engineering associates.
  • Provide analytical support for all areas in Finishing Engineering which includes product costing, capital planning, and design of experiments, problem solving, and process simulation.
  • Assist in the design development and implementation of finishing equipment with emphasis on reducing potential safety/ergonomic issues and improving overall costing and quality.

 Automation Engineering-Assembly Plant:

  • Support the Automation Engineering team in designing and executing tests for new processes and equipment in development for the Assembly and Finishing Operations.
  • Provide current and proposed costing scenarios to determine process viability.
  • Gain knowledge in robotic, automation and assembly processes through participation in cost reduction and quality improvement teams in partnership with global process engineering and plant process engineering associates.
  • Provide analytical support for all areas in Automation Engineering which includes product costing, capital planning, and design of experiments, problem solving, and process simulation.
  • Assist in the design development and implementation of automation equipment with emphasis on reducing potential safety/ergonomic issues and improving overall costing and quality.
