Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) Work Summary:
Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) provides behavioral intervention consultation services to the treatment team for a child or adolescent with a mental health diagnosis. The goal for you as the BSC is to get the child you work with to the point that they no longer need your help! Make a difference in a child’s life who struggles with a mental health diagnosis
Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) Duties
- Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) will collaborate with other members of the treatment team in order to design and direct the implementation of a behavioral modification intervention plan which is individualized to each child or adolescent and to family needs as well as considering the context of the educational, community or home setting.
- Behavioral Specialist Consultant (BSC) will develop treatment plan and instruction to the members of the treatment team (including the teacher, teacher aide’s, other school personnel, family, TSS, or other individuals proving direct service or supports to the child) in their roles and responsibilities in implementing the plan.
Behavior Specialist Consultant (BSC) Job Requirements
Educational Requirements (Per Insurance Regulations, cannot be negotiated)
- Master Degree (or higher) in a Human Service related field (MSW, MS, MEd, MA) and 2 years post-master’s clinical experience with children
- Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Behavior Specialist Consultant (LBSC), Licensed Social Worker (LSW), Licensed Clinical Social worker (LCSW), or Board Ceritifed Behavioral Analyst (BCBA)
