Principal AWS Cloud Engineer - Dallas Tampa or McLean or Dallas Must be a US Citizen or Green Card holder. As a member of the Cloud Network Services team, you will be responsible for bringing engineering domain expertise to lead the effort in building network infrastructure in their cloud platforms. You will be part of a team providing top level expertise to deliver solutions to our customers. You will assist with breaking down sophisticated technical requirements and turning them into actionable deliveries, while also providing mentorship to level 1 and level 2 support teams. RESPONSIBILITIES: Developing “Infrastructure as Code” using Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, Azure ARM Templates, or similar. Lead design of new Cloud technologies by partnering with application teams. Evaluate cloud technology alternatives and makes a case for the best approach. Hands-on proof of concept work will be required in IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS cloud products. Develop design diagrams and corresponding documentation to set enterprise best practices for cloud adoption. Manage relationships with application teams and prioritizes multiple projects as they go from design into production. Collaborate with teams across the company (i.e. network, security, operations) to build complete cloud offerings. Design Disaster Recovery and backup strategies to meet application objectives. Use innovative thinking to shape our standard enterprise cloud architecture offerings and partner with application teams to achieve proper cloud adoption models. Bachelor's degree (preferred) or equivalent experience 2. Minimum 8 years of experience in Cloud technologies including IaaS, PaaS, and software-as-a-service 3. Knowledge of UNIX (RedHat Linux 4.2-9, RHEL3/4/5/6/7, AmazonLinux1/2, SUSE Enterprise 9, Ubuntu 5.10-10.10, Gentoo, FreeBSD3/4/5/6/7/8/9/10, Debian, Slackware, BSD/OS, MacOSX, HPUX and Solaris 6/7/8/9/10) and Windows 2K/XP/7/10 4.
Extensive knowledge with Amazon Web Services (AWS) Networking and Compute services 5. Knowledgeable in configuring multipoint transit gateway attachments and complicated routing structures 6. In-depth knowledge of specific AWS Services: VPC, Route53, Direct Connect, Orgs, EC2, SSM, S3, IAM, CloudWatch, and CloudTrail 7.
Experienced in working with Terraform code, deploying complete environments fully automated 8. Knowledgeable in standard code best practices for the SDLC using GitHub Enterprise 9. Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware VSphere, KVM, Xen, and VirtualBox 10.
Strong focus on automation and maintaining parity in large, mission critical 24/7/365 operation 11. Experience with different deployment strategies in AWS. Monolith and Micro 12.
