About the Role: In support of the mission and vision of KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy, the Instructional Coach is responsible for overseeing curriculum and instruction in one academic department performing instructional coaching and supervision of a cohort of four to five teachers, planning and facilitating professional development, and performing school administrative responsibilities and duties as a member of the School Leadership Team. Additionally, the Instructional Coach will be responsible for some teaching duties. The Instructional Coach will bring a strong focus on student success and will be able to drive results and continuous improvement toward the school mission, vision, and priorities.

Job DescriptionJob Responsibilities
Leadership and Management
Serve on the School Leadership Team
Partner with the Principal and Assistant Principal to set school-wide vision and priorities
Partner with the Principal and Assistant Principal to plan and implement professional development
Lead and manage a content team, engaging in data analysis, and providing professional development opportunities for teachers
Provide content-specific and school-wide instructional professional development
Hold coaches accountable for school-wide professional and instructional norms
Instructional Coaching
Provide Instructional Coaching to a team of 4-5 teachers across 1-2 content teams
Evaluate a team of 4-5 teachers twice a year using the KIPP Colorado Instructional Rubric
Conduct weekly O3’s (one-on-one meetings) with 4-5 teachers focused on data analysis, lesson execution, planning, and classroom management
Support the development of teacher-driven professional goals through a regular observation process that follows a two-week cycle of twenty to thirty-minute formal observations followed by a debrief and action planning conference for each observation
Provide daily to weekly classroom mini-observations and informal feedback, frequency to be determined by Instructional Coach as is appropriate to the teacher’s development
School Administrative Duties
- Supervise school-wide and grade level rituals that are relevant to the goals at KIPP Northeast Denver Leadership Academy.
- Provide Tier One management support for teachers as needed
Additional Responsibilities
- Manage and support staff with caseload (IEPs)
- Support students and families as needed
Bachelors degree required
- *Must be Special Ed. certified*
At least 4 years of teaching experience and a strong record of helping underserved students achieve academic success
Significant experience with curriculum development and instructional methodology
Past experience leading adults in a school environment
Flexibility and willingness to actively participate in school community including, but not limited to: teaching electives and tutoring students, chaperoning overnight school trips, working with parents and families
Outstanding organizational skills and high attention to detail; outstanding written and oral communication skills
Ability to manage the ambiguity and multiple priorities inherent in an entrepreneurial environment
Proactive problem solver who demonstrates initiative and teamwork
Strong work ethic coupled with an enthusiastic and passionate approach to one’s work
Commitment to the belief that all students can learn and to the mission of educational equity

Compensation and Benefits
Salary will begin at $56,000 and is commensurate with experience.
