KIK Consumer Brands – Automotive Division
Our Automotive business is comprised of the Prestone® and Holts® businesses. We develop, manufacture and market antifreeze/coolant and other automotive functional fluids and car appearance products in North America and key international markets. Prestone® is the number one branded consumer choice for antifreeze/coolant in North America. Other brands in our Automotive Care business include Holts®, Redex® and Simoniz® (outside North America).
The Filler operator position is within our Automotive Division at our Prestone Alsip IL plant from 7:45am - 3:45pm.
This Position involves working in a team environment with primary focus on safety, continuous improvement, zero defects and 100% on time customer delivery. The Filling line operator is responsible for the continuous support of machine efficiency through various hands-on tasks associated with bottle filling, quality checks, product packaging, and compliance with all safety requirements (including but not limited to appropriate PPE, lifting, housekeeping.).
Monitor bottle indexing on conveyor systems through the filling process
Weight checks on filled bottles
Hourly updates on production boards
Fill cap hopper
Component verification to ensure correct product is produced
Bottle and label visual inspection for accurate packaging of product
Verifying date code labeling correctness
Monitoring and minor corrections of case packer system
Excellent computer skill set in regard to product check responsibilities
Strong communication skills regarding machine problems and quality requirements
Maintain clean, safe, and efficient work stations – dispose of trash in correct disposal methods (cardboard recycling, plastic cap disposal, area cleanliness including used rag recycling). Area must be maintained throughout shift and final cleanup at end of scheduled shift
Fill case sealer and glue pots with correct product
Ability to start equipment and identify basic mechanical issues
Follow all safety requirements including using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment – PPE (safety glasses, required footwear, hearing protection, hand protection, correct lifting methods, product disposal, etc.)
Support all changeover requirements of commodity product (changing caps, ensure bottles are pulled from line if not to be filled,
Recoup process for reintroducing product from damaged bottles as identified by quality representative and shift supervisor.
All additional work tasks as assigned
Minimum of high school degree or equivalent
Minimum of 1 year manufacturing experience
Able to work scheduled overtime or shift changes when required
Basic math skill set
Excellent communication skill set (verbal, written, etc.)
Team building skill set and positive interaction with all levels within the organization and outside vendors/customers
Ability to complete all job assigned computer software requirements associated with product requirements
Able to lift up to 40 pounds periodically throughout the manufacturing shift and meet physical requirements of position including lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, reaching with both hands/arms, ability to visually inspect product
Mechanically inclined to perform minor machine corrections within job responsibilities
