We are looking for an exceptional and vibrant Sales Manager to provide best in class service for our
guests and clients with exceptional financial results.

As a key member of the property leadership team, the Sales Manager has influence and accountability for the revenue generation of the property. Reporting to the Corporate Regional Director of Sales and the General Manager. 

The Sales Manager will be responsible for maintaining the highest level of ethical leadership to lead the property to achieve its business goals.

Core Job Requirements

 Responsible for the overall sales and revenue generation of the property

 Be responsible for maintaining compliance and up to date on new sales initiatives for the brand
and company

 Be actively involved in the STAR report and improving overall numbers associated with report.
(OCC, ADR and RevPAR)

 Implement and train on all IHG brand and company procedures that relate to sales, including
systems, processes and policy.

 Maintain positive relationships with Management Company, property owners, other properties
directors of sales and clients.

 Support guest experience and satisfaction in all operational departments.

 Act as the face of the property by being actively involved in the local community events related to
maintaining the hotels market awareness and footprint.

 Ability to implement and maintain all sales documentation and sales procedures through training,
coaching & counseling, and progressive discipline when necessary

 Ability to collaborate with General Manager, Revenue Manager and Corporate Regional Director
of sales to make revenue management decisions to effectively grow the hotels market share.

Profit Management

Sales Manager will be responsible for the development, customized sales, and marketing plans for the
hotel. The position leads the implementation of the plans for the property. The plans are based on
company and brand approved policies and strategies, particularly aspects of the market and demand

 Knows key accounts and actively sells through personal visits and regular contact with these
accounts and their key decision-makers.

 Understands the local hotel market - strengths and weaknesses of the competition. Uses this
knowledge when presenting information to key decision-makers.

 Familiar with the successful practices of competitors and recommends strategies or sales tactics
designed to grow revenue and manage expenses within the sales department quarterly goals.

 Identifies and actively solicits new accounts for the hotel. Ensures effective and on-going target
List pursuit strategies are in place. (outside sales calls/visits)

 Appropriately documenting all sales calls and other sales activities using sales data based
system. This includes Weekly Sales report and quarterly sales action plans provided by the
corporate regional director of sales.

 Markets opportunities on property’s web site and on electronic distribution channels, including
GDS and internet third party travel sites.

 Actively leads all hotel sales and marketing activities.

 Ensures that all sales information is communicated to all departments.

 Demonstrates working knowledge in the use of Revenue Maximization programs. Assists the
General Manager with establishing and carrying out revenue maximization strategies.

 Accurately forecasts occupancy changes based on changing market conditions (e.g., increased
competition, local events and market type awareness).

 Knowledgeable on developments in the sales and / or hospitality field

Technical skills preferred – Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, sales-tracking software and experience with
hotel reservation systems (OPERA/Merlin/IHG Reporting).
