Assistant Project Manager (APM)
To be located in the Washington, DC-Baltimore area
(Full-Time on Site)
Minimum Experience:
1-3 years
Minimum Education:
BS/BA Degree and on-site field construction experience-supporting superintendent
Functional Requirements:
Responsible for the assistant management of the project-supporting PM including notes, maintain Meeting Minutes/PAIL, schedule amendments, and budget amendments. Will require site visits and field inspections with the PM. Candidate will need to work with vendors, sub-contractors, site supervisors, and GC's regarding the review of documentation and facilitation of questions, concerns, or issues with Client/Architect/Engineer as required. Facilitate coordination between Property Owners/Property Managers and GC/Owner Vendors. A knowledge or desire to learn how to handle submittals and RFI's will be important as the APM will be an important liaison for PM approval. Provides communication and interface with client as needed to support the PM. Takes on select vendor oversight or coordination such as: security vendor, voice, and data cabling, move management, and furniture installation. Works diligently to make sure responsible parties adhere to established contract documents, regulations, laws, and governing authorities.

Construction management skills:
o Ability to read and comprehend architectural and engineering drawings
o Ability to create basic project budgets and schedules
o Support PM in building due-diligence evaluations
Project management skills:
o Ability to speak the language of Project Management (GC, MEP, RFQ, RFP, RFI, LOI, COI, LEED, VE, TI)
o Ability to produce comprehensive reports, summaries, meeting minutes
o Ability to collaborate with brokers, property owners, architects, engineers, GCs, and vendors (i.e., A/V, low voltage cabling, signage, security, telephones, movers, LEED, furniture, etc.)
o Familiarity with content and requirements in RFPs for AV, Design, Furniture, Data Cabling, Graphics, Wayfinding and ADA Signage, etc.
Substitution Methodology:
A High School Diploma + 4 years of experience equals a bachelor's degree
An associate degree + 2 years of experience equals a Bachelor's Degree
A Bachelor's Degree + 2 years of experience equals a master's degree
PMP or equivalent certification is equal to 2 years' experience
