GENERAL SUMMARY
The Fabrication Technical Specialist/QMS Administrator position covers a broad range of technical responsibilities as they pertain to the CNC range of equipment in the fabrication of glass products along with QMS Administrator duties. The Fabrication Technical Specialist/QMS Administrator will use a blend of mechanical and technical skills to perform his duties. This position will write programs in several state-of-the-art software applications for fabrication productivity purposes. This position will interface with the OEM for new machinery installs, as well work closely with in-house maintenance on trouble shooting machine down time on PLCs and CNC controls. The Fabrication Technical Specialist will also be an expert on all machinery functionality and can assist in the operation of the machinery as needed. This position will work closely with the Director and QC manager to assist with the ISO system day-to-day processes and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Programming for all CNC machinery utilizing CAD drawings, customer templates and iShape digitizing.
· Support the Quality Manager with the overall ISO Standard Operating System function.
· Position will be cross trained in all activities of the Quality Manager and fill the position as necessary.
· Will assist in the trouble shooting of all CNC and PLC controllers along with our maintenance department.
· Will have knowledge of all equipment in the Fabrication division system and will also operate the machinery.
· Very critical area for focus on work in the programming phase, program and glass must be perfect.
· Ability to clearly present technical information.
· Experience with the testing and maintenance of new and current software.
· Ability to design and implement new processes such as iShape with A+W.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
· Develop and maintain standard procedure(s) for efficiently utilizing A+W programming software.
· Setting up and operating different CNC machines, running, and monitoring the output of machine tools.
· Know the manufacturing process in great detail, troubleshooting with the CNC operator.
· Monitor and check the product quality with newly written program samples.
· Keep equipment in good working order by performing regular inspections pertaining to CNC.
· Follow strict internal protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
· May also be responsible for the gathering of data from their part of the manufacturing process and reporting it to senior staff members (Director of Manufacturing).
· Conduct the weekly ISO group meetings.
· Support the Quality Manager with the overall ISO Standard Operating System function.
· Assist in developing and maintaining standard operating procedures (SOPs).
· Assist in design and implementation of production KPMs.
· Assist in identification of KPMs to create a completely accountable, 100% customer satisfaction goal.
· The Quality Control/QMS Administrator will be cross trained in all activities of the Quality Manager and fill the position as necessary.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
· While performing the duties of the job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear.
· The employee exerts up to 100 lbs. of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force constantly to move objects.
· Vision requirements include clarity of vision at 20 inches or less; clarity of vision at 20 feet or more; ability to identify and distinguish colors; the ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point; the ability to judge distances and spatial relationships; and the ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus.
· Work is performed in shop environment with frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, outdoor weather conditions and vibration. There is occasional exposure to humid and extreme non-weather related cold or hot conditions. There is frequent exposure to constant very loud sounds sufficient enough to cause distraction.
