Job Description

Currently seeking a Sr. Project Engineer w/ NH3 Project Engineering and Sales Experience to join an entrepreneurial minded client in the industrial refrigeration/HVAC industry.

You are an ideal candidate if you have extensive knowledge of ammonia (NH3) refrigeration, solid sales and development experience, and strong customer service and relationship building skills. This position will begin in (or be traveling to) Fort Wayne, IN for approximately one (1) year, working with and building relationships with the internal team. Once Fort Wayne relationships established, position will be working out of Newark, OH office. Service territory is Northeastern Ohio.

As a Sr. Project Engineer - NH3 Project Engineering & Sales You Will:

  • Build relationships with current customers, vendors and suppliers
  • Discover and meet new prospective customers to develop relationships
  • Meet with customers to understand and document needs and budgetary constraints, develop the preliminary solution design, and develop budgets associated with design options
  • Incorporate value engineering practices to modify scope and costs to meet customer needs
  • Make presentations to customer management as necessary to secure work
  • Project job costs and assess profits for the projects assigned vs company target profitability
  • Develop project task plans, being aware of prerequisite tasks, and include resources and lead times to accomplish Customer Targeted Completion Dates
  • Develop resource plan and issue contracts and purchase orders to vendor/suppliers and subs
  • Manage service cost and profitability for the contracts in progress, and miscellaneous costs
  • Ensure workforce completes work within OSHA requirements and Customer Site Specific requirements in order to maintain the safety of our teammates, customers and community residents
  • Keep abreast of industry developments and innovation in equipment and process

As a Sr. Project Engineer - NH3 Project Engineering & Sales You Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree AND 10+ yrs of Related Experience in a Construction related Role, at least five at a Foreman Level
  • Sales/Business Development, Consistently Generating $8MM+ of NH3 Construction Project Sales Annually
  • Solid Technical Knowledge of Ammonia Refrigeration/ Mechanical / HVAC System Components is a MUST
  • Project Management Disciplines and Techniques (Project Plan, Gantt, CPM)
  • Capabilities of Industry Equipment Components
  • Excellent Customer Service and Problem-Solving Skills
  • Knowledge of OSHA / EPA Requirements and Customer Specific Safety and Maintenance Procedures
  • Ability to Design Systems to Meet Customer Requirements
  • Ability to Estimate, Quote, and Sell New Business for a Profit
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • High Level of Business Acumen and Ethics
  • Willingness to Work in Fort Wayne, IN Often for Approx. the First Year
