The Seasonal Shift Supervisor is a temporary position that will oversee Factory Operations through the 2021 Harvest Season.The Seasonal Shift Supervisor : Supervises the factory processing operations including pulping, predrying, drying, pulp waste, dry milling, and offseason maintenance.Responsible for controlled and well organized shift operations.Responsible for the implementation of operational procedures, practices and policies to ensure reliable, efficient, safe and cost effective processing to maximize production yields, quality and recovery.Primary Functions:Manages employees in processing operations across shifts and with other departments and function.Responsible for employee manning, scheduling and payroll for shift crews.Responsible for payroll review for all factory shift workers on crew.Directs and coordinates the activities of subordinates to accomplish company and department objectives and goals.Responsible for the selection, training and motivating... of a competent workforce that will successfully meet production, quality and safety demands.Responsible for implementing and updating standard operating procedures (SOPs), operating instructions (OIs) and checklists and associated training to ensure effective production, quality and safety standards are achieved.Checks equipment and system efficiencies by performing routine inspections and testing to verify all equipment and systems are operating within operational specifications.Ensures quality in the processing of coffee cherry, parchment and green bean while focusing on production rate, parchment and green bean recovery, workforce productivity and cost control.Identifies and coordinates processing maintenance needs with maintenance department.Recommends improvement projects to maximize company performance.Learns and supports other factory operations to act as relief supervisor if needed, including shift work.Knowledgeable of and complies with all Federal, State, Local and Company safety, health and environmental regulations.Provides a safe working environment for all employees to minimize accidents and their related costs.Responsible for compliance with company rules and policies and with the Company/Union Agreement to ensure fair and equitable treatment of all employees.Assists in building a healthy, team-oriented work environment to insure continued success of Kauai Coffee Company, LLC.Additional duties as assigned.Qualifications/Skills/Knowledge Requirements:Must be a high school graduate.Must have a minimum of two years job experience working in a commercial or industrial manufacturing or processing environment.Previous supervisory experience a plus.Experience in MS Word and Excel preferred.Kauai Coffee is an Equal Opportunity Employer
