This position is located in the Facilities Department at the Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Lompoc, CA. The incumbent trains and supervises staff and inmate workers involved in the operation of a primary and secondary wastewater treatment plant responsible for the operation, new construction, repair, improvement, and maintenance of all equipment within the plant. The incumbent is responsible for the treatment of all wastewater produced by the institution and/or the residential housing area. In accordance with this position, the incumbent must be licensed in compliance with state and/or federal requirements. The incumbent will be required to maintain at a minimum a Grade 2 wastewater license through the California Water Quality Board.
Along with all other correctional institution employees, incumbent is charged with responsibility for maintaining security of the institution. The staff correctional responsibilities precede all others required by this position and are performed on a regular and recurring basis.

**Special Conditions of Employment Section:**
Initial appointment to a supervisory/managerial position requires a one-year probationary period.
The incumbent is subject to geographic relocation to meet the needs of the agency.
Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of a pre-employment and panel interview, urinalysis, physical, and background investigation. The Core Value Assessment (CVA) is an in-person assessment that must be facilitated at a Bureau of Prisons Human Resource Servicing office. On the day of the scheduled interview, a CVA will be administered. The applicant assessment must be completed within a 70 minute time period and a passing score must be obtained. Further employment consideration will not be extended if the applicant fails to complete the examination or fails to achieve a passing score. Successful completion of the "Introduction to Correctional Techniques," three-week training course at Glynco, Georgia is required.
